when Tommy departed and belatedly hire the soon to be available, incomparable, and peerless Muschamp, would he be considered the biggest jerk coaching in the state of South Carolina or would that honor remain with Spurrier?

Muschamp would have about a 50/50 chance of being a bigger jerk than Spurrier, though there's only a 10% chance of that.

But most of my Clemson buddies wanted Gary Patterson. He seems to have done pretty well with much less in terms of resources.

No competition on that subject - the position is Spurrier's and it has been retired because no one could ever beat him out/
