But thinking back to Vic's development and roundabout evolution.

What would a bulked up - 6'4" 235 lb. Jayron Kearse look like at rush end taking Vic's place next year?

If Blanks came back strong - we would certainly be in decent shape back there.

I don't know if Kearse could play end but I see many of the traits in him that could make him excel at the role - like Vic - Length and Strength - especially if he bulked up, Great first step and overall speed, toughness, nose for the ball and on top of that - he surely has the DE bloodlines.

I'd rather him be our Kam Chancellor or TJ Ward than try and be another Vic Beasley. Nothing wrong with a big safety who can play in the box AND cover big athletic TEs.

I also believe that JK also prefers to play in the DB.

That said - if JK had the potential to play at Vic's level on the DL as an elite pass rusher - the NFL money is at DE. Elite Safeties make about 1/2 what elite DEs make.

That was true for a while but I think Earl Thomas, Jairus Byrd, etc. are helping change that mold. With these big, athletic TEs, the NFL is gonna have to pay the guys who have to matchup with those guys much like elite LTs get paid
