Peyton Manning is the GOAT

Oct 19, 2014, 11:58 PM

I don't buy the argument about playoff losses. Winning games in the playoffs is tough, and always involves a bit of luck. The guy is simply the greatest QB to ever play. Contrary to popular opinion I don't think he would make a good coach if that's what he decides to do. He'd get mad when they players he's coaching aren't able to think on his level.

Joe Montana is laughing somewhere.

Will take Joe Cool preseason, regular season, postseason, sandlot, outer depths of solar system, etc..

I would like to make the observation that Ryan Leaf just never did find his stride .

I agree that winning in the playoffs isn't everything. But it does count for something and I just don't think you can be called the greatest ever with a record below .500 (11-12) in the playoffs.

Some of Manning's best performances were in playoff loses. The "he sucked in the playoffs" argument is more relevant in basketball, IMO. Can't put Mannings postseason record entirely on his shoulders.

Not even the best of his time

Oct 20, 2014, 12:37 AM

That would be Mr. Tom Brady. He is a top 5 qb all time, but I gaurantee Brady wouldn't have gotten spanked like that in the Super Bowl.

Anybody Seattle played last season would have gotten spanked, included Brady.
Seattle got hot at the right time, and I don't
think anyone saw that coming in the Super Bowl.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

exactly, the way Seattle played that game they would

Oct 20, 2014, 7:57 AM

have spanked anyone, they just were that good and played to prove a point. The score may not have been as lopsided due that other teams may have had a better running game thus controlling the clock more, but Denver didnt have a run game and that isnt on Manning.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

well didnt get to see it, he had just got beat by Manning
