Not good at all... Our Goverment just #### the bed. We should have NEVER allowed flights from West Africa into the country.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

This is ridiculous. The Govt. certainly could have.......

Sep 30, 2014, 6:41 PM

avoided this but has seemed to have a cavalier attitude toward the possibility of it spreading to the U.S. and their ability to effectively and completely controlling and treating it. I just do not think that we ARE prepared to deal with this disease particularly in our rural areas. Even Stevie Wonder saw this coming.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We seem to have a cavalier attitude about everything

Oct 1, 2014, 8:41 AM [ in reply to This is ridiculous. The Govt. certainly could have....... ]

ISIS, Secret Service Protection, Ebola, etc. That being said, it seems like Ebola is not the type of disease (unless we're not fully informed) that will run wild in the US. My fear is if it spreads to other countries and we start getting 10, 20, 50 people a week coming into the US with it. We can squash it easily with a little persistence and research into the patient's contacts. But if too many people start coming here with it, the ability to fully track contacts will be strained and new cases will spread.

If 100 Ebola patients came to the US tomorrow and spread out, we could not control it. And don't think this hasn't cross the minds of terrorists.

It wouldn't spread too much in the US. We're too well

Oct 1, 2014, 8:48 AM

informed. People will avoid all contact with others, and use Purrell on everything.

It generally requires contact with bodily fluids after the person is symptomatic.

Texas to Mexico in exchange for them taking Ebola as well. Perhaps we could also throw in the return of a few million illegals to be named later?
