Was there busted coverage by a safety on the FSU td pass?

As good as Alexander is, I can't imagine having him in press coverage on FSU's best receiver with no help over the top. It's a shame that the kid lost his footing, because he's the best cb I've seen at Clemson since Donnell Woolford.

possibly, but it looked liked we were in man coverage on that one.
I thought they had him out on and island by design.

I would have to look at it again, but 3rd and 24 is the ideal time to play press man and dial up a blitz.

a safety over the top would not have been a bad idea either, in hind sight lol.
Still, it was a perfect throw, would have been very hard to defend had alexander not fallen down. It does say a lot that the coaches have that much trust in him.

venables said looking back he should have put a safety over the top. Are you sure we only rushed 3?, that is a lot of guys standing around in the middle of the field.

O 'larry. all game Alexander proved he could cover 1 on 1.
I think we're bright a lb blitz on that play
So safeties staid in middle to cover the play that was beating is all night.

No Alexanander just fell playing a lil physical with his arm on the receiver. Greene made a move with his speed and MA lost balance nd went down. With the down and distance a safety wouldve been nice, but they probably were more worried about O'leary underneath. Other than that play MA played great and he has shown enough skill to be left alone.

I think the slot receiver ran a crossing route. Kearns had to pick the slot receiver up leaving Alexander in a One on one situation.
