Hit and Run victim recognizes driver at Coot/aTm game

WEST COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The victim of hit-and-run earlier this month spotted the truck that hit him at the University of South Carolina football game Thursday, leading to the driver's arrest.

Troopers say when the victim was at the USC game, he saw the truck that hit him and left the scene on August 1st in West Columbia. The man alerted troopers working traffic at the game, and they were able to follow the man to his home on Rose Drive in Columbia, where he was arrested.

Trooper David Jones says Michael T. Dickert, 44, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with great bodily injury and driving under suspension.

Jones says Dickert reportedly admitted to the crash.

Dickert is accused of driving away after hitting a man at U.S. 1 and Beverly Drive in West Columbia on August 1st. The victim suffered a leg injury.
