Imagine there was a political organization....

Jul 30, 2014, 2:41 PM

that could name the time and place and get all 100 Senators to show up and spend the whole day with them. Every Senator, no matter what their political affiliation or how far they had to travel felt like they had to go and do what this organization asked them to. IMO an organization with that much power over politics would raise a lot of warranted suspicion.

Over the last couple weeks ESPN was able to get every college coach that they wanted (every coach from every major conference) to take time away from recruiting, game planning, spending time with their families, etc. to come to Bristol and spend a full day doing ESPN programming. There's something not quite right about that kind of tail wagging the dog.

ESPN pays most of the conferences a ton of money

So it's hard to say no to them.

Plus what coach would turn down free exposure for his program? It's not like they're gonna talk trash about your team while you're on site.
