Why soccer will never be huge in America...

The disparity in the quality of players in the MLS and in the top European leagues is just too huge, and the money's not there to even keep the top Americans in America. No one wants to see minor league soccer with players who are only there because they're not good enough to play in Europe.
If soccer's going to make it big, it's going to be because Americans start following the EPL and La Liga, and those leagues get the big TV contracts in America.
It's not dissimilar to how the NBA is shown in England rather than their own crappy basketball league. They see over 200 NBA games a year with their current TV deal. They see as many as 7 NBA games a week there because they realize the league with the top players is the only basketball worth watching.

umm yes it is a huge disparity.... Roster worth Billions defeats roster of many players who dont even make Millions.
If you actually look at the league compared to what it was 10 years ago the quality has improved along with the pay. Will it ever surpass the EPL? Hell no is it growing? Yes.

Seriously. How many times at a Clemson game does that stupid guy in the red shirt walk out on the field for a TV timeout? None of that in soccer. That's why it'll never catch on.

They've found many other ways to sell advertising in soccer. I doubt this is going to be the thing that holds it back.

I can take it or leave it but I will say my 10 yo son and his friends get up early on fall Saturdays to watch EPL games. We have also been to more local minor league soccer matches than baseball games over the past two years. I don't think it will ever be even close to the big three sports in the US but popularity is certainly on the rise based on my observations.

it is just not comparable to American sports.. not close to football, basketball, baseball, golf,has about the same crowd appeal as track!!it is a "snitch" sport that draws those that want to claim "I am better than U because I like soccer"... that their draw
