Worst gameday experience for any reason as a Clemson fan?
Jul 22, 2014, 10:04 AM

Games you've been to either at Death Valley or on the road cheering the Tigers on
Top three for me are
Orange bowl against WVU, self explanatory plus their fans are just awful people.
FSU last year. Wow what a disappointment
USCjr in cootlumbia in 2009

With that said, any game at Maryland. Been there multiple times, and their fans never failed to be complete j@ck@sses.

Any game against Georgia in Athens wins hands down IMO

followed by any game against Georgia at any other venue.
Maryland fans are almost as bad IMO but they have mellowed alot lately since the team has not been very good.
West Virginia and Oklahoms would also have to be included on any such list followed by NC State and Mississippi State.

It was like the Wake game in 2006, except there was no Gaines Adams moment to turn things around.
I don't include that game, painful though it was because the Duke fans were both stunned and genuinely sympathetic to our plight.

Last time we played usux at home. Lot 4 had too many of "their" fans and no crowd control whatsoever from law enforcement until after the game. Why don't the law walk around and harass the visiting team's fans like they do some of ours.

At GT in 2009 that was not a hold on the long pass to J ford late that would have almost sealed the game. I came close to going to jail that night. We walked back to the hotel with a GT fan talking crap the whole way back.

Aside from disappointment with the outcome...
Jul 22, 2014, 10:16 AM

1. Maryland, 2001 ... absolutely the worst. The only time I've seen opposing fans spit on old ladies. I won't miss these clowns at all.
2. NC State, 1999 ... Might have been the night fans got in a fight with the wuffie pap band that insisted on playing their fight son in the middle of the Clemson section, but it was definitely the night two drunk wuffies stood at the exit shoving anyone wearing orange screaming "You suck!" We huddled the women and children in the middle and swore never to return. Two years later, Woody avenged us all with an amazing game. 3. Georgia, 1977 ... in truth it was probably a worse experience as a fan, but we won and all the property damage was done to a University car, so I didn't care.

Jul 22, 2014, 10:39 AM

It was unseasonably hot, I didn't eat anything pretty much the whole day, I was stuck up in the rafters of Billy Brice, and I was 3 rows behind 2 obnoxious 50-year-old female meth head coot fans (some of this might be redundant).
After we lost, I was walking back to my friend's car, and Sakerlina fans kept crowing at me from the beds of pickup trucks (this happened at least 4 times).
Needless to say, I haven't been back to that industrial wasteland and I don't intend to.

Orange Bowl vs WVU, luckily it was $18 martini night at the hotel bar!! Seriously $18!!
FSU last season...
Alabama in the kickoff classic in Atlanta 08. All I heard on the way out was roll tide over and over again.
And the last five USuCk games. Especially last year and the year before. Thought we were better in both. The forth down pass interference calls two years ago were suspect IMO. Just couldn't get them off the field.
Feel greatness is just around the corner though. Spot the #### ball already!!
Go Tigers!!

@ USuck in 2007 (1st and 35 game)
It was a split crowd I was with in terms of SCAR/CLEMSON fans. One of the drunk Gamecock fans went and pizzed in the open door of a Clemson fan's SUV and got his #### knocked out, which started a brawl out in the fairgrounds with another similar group of split fans. A lot of confused fighting between friends, rival fans and like fans.
Although I got a few shots in after being turned on after trying to break everything up, I got rolled pretty good at one point when 2 of them got ahold of me. Just a clusterfunk all around. Luckily everyone was so hammered that the groups made peace after the game even with the dramatic finish. But it still sucked because I'm pretty sure I got a concussion and we had to babysit pissy boy all night.
Can't got to Columbia without some chit going down.

@Georgia Tech sometime around 2009. I had some old man trying to start a fight with me practically the whole game and I don't think we took the lead even once that day. I woke up the next day feeling a little bit bad that I wasn't in jail for kicking that old man's ###. He definitely had it coming.
