Wasted Talent

I used to think back in the TB days Clemson could have and should have done so much more with the players we had. So it's got to suck to be a UGay fan. To have never really done nothing with all those studs over the years. Man it's got to be rough to be a Dawg.

They have 2 conference titles in 31 years, and they haven't won the national title since before us.

Tons of preseason hype and press over the last 20 years, but not a lot of hardware to go along with it.

No respect for their coaches, their team, or their university. We will enjoy beating their sorry @sses.
It was never this bad with TB here, or anyone else. No comparison.

I don't think that's a fair comparison because

TB rarely lost to the coots, whereas Richt has lost his fair share to them.

Harper really regressed that season as a QB as well.

OL probably had something to do with it, but he went from 3000 yards, 65%, 27TD/6INT to 2600 yards, 61%, 13/14.

I didn't think Harper was that great the year before
Jul 23, 2014, 2:18 PM
|

and was shocked when he was pre-season player of the year.
In '07 he had solid numbers, but threw a lot of quick outs and dump-off routes without ever being much of a threat deep. Harper wasn't a bad QB, but he wasn't great, and was a victim of his own hype and a bad OL in '08.

In what world is TB = Mark Richt??
Jul 23, 2014, 7:30 AM
|
|
Richt has won 2 SEC titles, 6 SEC East titles, 2 BCS bowls, he's 3-0 in the Capitol One Bowl, and they were a couple plays away from playing for the national title 2 years ago.
TB won 0 ACC titles, 0 division titles (but did choke a couple away), and his biggest post-season accomplishment was beating Tennessee in the Peach Bowl. We had home games in consecutive years against Maryland and BC that would've sent us to the ACCCG and we blew BOTH of them.
I know some people around here really don't like Richt, but if TB was anywhere close to the same caliber he would still be our HC right now.

and clem has accomplished....what?....in this same time frame? I mean....Gawd it's not as if Bama, Auburn, Lsu, Florida, Usc, TexAM, ect, ect play in the ACC.
Clemson basically has one team to contend with....Fsu.

Don't waste your breath reasoning with them SOLO!!
They have two or three consistently "elite" teams year in and year out: Bama, LSU and recently Auburn, but yet they think the entire conference is elite and unbeatable!
They are a pathetic bunch!!
Go Tigers!!!!

You choose to miss the point i guess. The SEC, year in and year out has more ranked teams than the ACC.....hence stiffer competition. Remember....the SEC won 7 straight nattys. If UGA could have switched places with clemson in the OP's time frame.....I promise we'd have more that one ACC title.

cute....UGA is 17-3 in our last 20 versus Vandy. What's your point? 1/4 of CU's total victories are against the likes of Furman, Presbyterian, Duke, and the Citadel. Do you realize clemson has losing records versus VANDY and Kentucky?

Played Kentucky 3 times since the 80's and won 2 of the 3?
I actually like Georgia and Richt, but they have been underachievers, much like Clemson, since the 80's. With that said, through most of the 90's and '00's, Georgia was much better than us. I think we're pretty even now.

I think some of that talent, until the last couple of year, is maybe overrated by us. We weren't putting a ton of guys in the NFL from 2000-2009. At least not that I recall and not many who hung around very long.
