So, that's two "cups of coffee" in the majors for Kyle ...

So close and yet so far.
Well, he's still in some very select company historically getting called up at all.
Maybe third time will be the charm.

While hope springs eternal, he could have been a heckuva a backup NFL QB (possibly starter) if he would have just stuck to football.

No I have not seen him play baseball except in snippets. I'm not saying he wasn't good at it, just thinking he probably could have been a bigger impact in football and wondering if he is thinking that too right now.
Either way, he will do fine because he is tainted/gifted.

Idk if he would of even started his junior year. Boyd would of eventually passed him, especially with the style of offense we have. I think he made the right decision. His career will last longer playing baseball rather than football. Boyd vs Parker would of been an interesting battle during 2011

Yeah, playing professional football and living your retirement out with dementia and plastic joints is preferable to playing baseball. Right.

and concentrated on baseball.
I think his real future was always in baseball, although he was a fine QB for us and did a lot of good things on the field.

Might wind up as part of a trade if at some point next year if they can't keep him up or they will risk losing him

want this year and it only counts as 1 of his option years. He's on the 40 man roster. He has 3 option years for the minors. Once he is optioned to the minors that counts as 1 option year. At that point he can be called up and down as many times as the team wants. After 3 years of staying on the 40 man and being sent to the minors, he must go through waivers before accepting the minor league assignment.
