Ten to Watch: Isaiah Battle

The Tigers won't begin fall camp for another month, but it's never too early to take a look ahead to the season. In the first of a series, TigerNet takes a look at 10 players who will probably play a key part in the success of the season. Full Story »

My question is... did he grow an inch taller and lose 5 pounds or get shorter and gain 5 ?

I think he will be much improved. Sometimes a man has to go through adversity to help him gain better focus but we shall see. We need him and his ability in a major way.

...And the republicans will decry a national lavatory bias or conjure a Freedom Flush PAC or perhaps build party talking points for Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh around "Put the Toil back in toilet. Fight the commode-ism agenda."

No. He hasn't gained a pound of muscle since he got here.
And no, he won't come through this season. If Battle is our left tackle, god help Cole Stoudt. With his height,
Battle should weigh over 300 by now. He doesn't do the work necessary to be a top flight offensive lineman, and will remain as he has been---mediocre. Vic Beasley, still at a ridiculously light 235 will remain a non-entity against the run. He should be playing at a minimum of 250 to 260. But then we don't have a S&C program that can develop these players. And, Zac Brooks still playing at his HS weight of 185. He's going to somehow emerge as a force at RB?? In your dreams. I hope I'm wrong, but we could have a rough season coming
up.

I like our OL this year...

Still not sure about the RT position.
But the OL has a chance to be good...and for
Cole's sake...

THEY BETTER BE!

I think COle is better at feeling the pocket collapse than boyd, and if he can gel with these guys Pass Pro should be pretty good.

Our run game is the only thing that remotely concerns me on offense.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We'll definitely be a run-first offense.

Jul 1, 2014, 9:57 PM

We have the hosses.

The definition of awesome!

What hosses?? Name one elite RB that we have. Tyshon Dye won't be available until at least mid-season, so who are you talking about? I see RB as a potential problem for this team.

This year we have a Choice at runningback.

Why do you think our pass protection should be good? Based on what players? I'd really like to know. Maybe I'm missing something.

Yeah the ol scares me as always. I really haven't seen our bigs up front knocking guys off the ball very often...we haven't exactly recruited the cream of the crop until THIS year's class, and even THIS class still doesn't have a mauler like Zach Bailey, yet. The Chad is gonna have to do some scheming to mask the deficiencies. As far as s/c, while I agree that batson & crew leave a lot to be desired, guys like brooks and beasley just CAN'T put on weight lol...genetics

Re: our "good" OL, what players are you referring to. I don't see them, but am willing to be enlightened.

You're here to stir up chit. So STFU with that nonsense about "I'm willing to be enlightened." You and everyone here knows that's not true.
