Football/Religion/Constitution

Apr 18, 2014, 1:43 PM

Clemson's football program needs no defense from me, but let's clear up a few things.

The only mention of religion in the Constitution is in Article I. The very first statement in said article says: "CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTAB LISHMENT OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF";..... That's it! That's all!

In the first place, Clemson is certainly not Congress. Enough said, but secondly, nobody at Clemson is trying to establish a religion or prohibit the free exercise of any religion.

Furthermore,to clear up the popular MYTH that the Constitution addresses or even mentions "seperation of Church and State", there are no such words or reference anywhere in the Constitution.

Let 'em sue. Organizations like the FFRF should be put in their place!

Clemson is on the winning side here. It brings us positive publicity, and will help us in recruiting the high character kids we go after.
