Veteran Smith likes what he sees out of young secondary

Safety Robert Smith has been around the block a time or two, and as the old man of the Clemson secondary, he knows there are a lot of young eyes watching his every move. However, he is also watching the younger players and he likes what he sees. Full Story »

We have a good punter to pin opponents deep

so if our secondary can be prepared soon enough to deal with Ga and Fla St, there is a reasonable chance to have a top 10 defense with the defensive line, linebackers and depth we have for the front 7!

I think the pundits think FSU will be the class of the conference again next year, and I believe they will be great, but I think we will be very, very good, as well. Let FSU get the hype and the accolades, but just know the Tigers are coming for them and anybody and everybody else. predict we will be quite a factor next season and beyond.

With the play of the DE's and the rest of the D-linemen, there will be loose balls flying all over the place. The secondary will eventually be rewarded for flying to the ball on every play. Just as good as a pick(6). Not a matter of if, but WHEN. If this doesn't happen for the secondary this year, I will quick watching football all together. Our front 7 will wreak havoc this year. It their's to lose.

I believe we have a new addition to the Tigernet Dictionary

Mar 20, 2014, 8:53 AM [ in reply to Re: New Story: Veteran Smith likes what he sees out of young secondary ]

Reek Habit (Wreak Havoc) I assume can mean one of two things. 1. Tearing apart an opposing offense with abandon, or 2. a rather smelly activity that one engages in regularly. e.g. "I have a player that has not washed his jockey strap in two years because he thinks flies are lucky!"

Thanks for correction. Both definitions d1 & d2 can create a problem for the opposing offenses. Whatever help gets our defense the advantage.
