Best of luck to him.

Jan 5, 2014, 12:51 PM

Hope he goes high and is able to provide for his kids!

Thanks Tay!

Seems like a poor choice for Breeland and Bryant

Jan 5, 2014, 12:55 PM

But I wish them well nonetheless

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They both have the talent to make it in the NFL...

Jan 5, 2014, 12:57 PM

it's just that an extra year would have gotten Bryant into the first round.

I said after the spring game Bryant was locked on the light was on now. Bryant has about a much potential as any receiver not named Calvin Johnson, I've ever seen. He is one of those guys that will go to the combine and dazzle scouts especially with speed. When a 6-5 215+ WR runs a sub 4.4 people take notice. I'm saying 4.32-4.35ish. If he posts 38" or better vertical, looks good in catching drills, shows good lateral movement and crisp routes, he may slide into the late first anyway. He is without a doubt first round talent. He could potentially put on another 15+ pounds as well. H's started filling out his frame too. He really has a bright future ahead of him. Good luck MB!

not so with Breeland. not a good choise are my thoughts.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

While I am not in his position, he has not established

Jan 5, 2014, 12:55 PM

himself in college yet...only shown glimpses of potential...not consistency yet.

He has a very tough row to hoe...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He was consistent the last 2/3rd's of the season...

Jan 5, 2014, 1:00 PM

and this was his first year in getting significant playing time. Would another year help? Yes, but he has the talent to make it in the NFL. And as long as he works hard he can be a good NFL player. Ellington got drafted in the 6th round and he had a good rookie season.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He had the benefit from facing lesser DB's with SW on the

Jan 5, 2014, 1:36 PM

field. Each time he faced adversity from coaches, etc., he reels. The NFL is not a kind place to those not mature in attitude and approach to the game. I hope he does well, but young immature players get chewed up and spit out by the NFL players and coaches.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He will have the same benefit in the NFL

Jan 5, 2014, 1:54 PM

He won't be a #1 receiver, but his combination of hands, size and speed are a rare commodity that teams will savor the chance to develop.
I agree with you on maturity - hopefully he's learned lessons from the tough love given at Clemson and I hope he finds a good mentor in the league. If so, watch out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thanks Martavis for helping us win the Orange Bowl...

Jan 5, 2014, 12:56 PM

Best of luck to him. Would have liked to have him another year, and another year could have gotten him first round draft status, but it's understandable that the decision was made in interest of himself and his family. Hope to see Bryant catch many passes in the NFL.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He would be $o much better off $taying one more year.

Jan 5, 2014, 12:56 PM

Best of luck Martavis! You have to do what you feel is best for your family. Thank you for being a Tiger!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Best of luck to him

Jan 5, 2014, 1:00 PM

Now bring on Charone, Adam, Mike, Demarre, TJ, KYrin, Artavius, Hopper, and the rest of the wide receivers! We'll be just fine!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah, I guess that college degree has no value, lol.****

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Best of luck to Martavis! That being said,

Jan 5, 2014, 1:03 PM

I will say that he has been a disappointment here at Clemson. His flashes of brilliance were fun to see, but it would have been great to see him have an outstanding season as the team's true #1 reciever

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Really? A disappointment?

Jan 6, 2014, 12:31 AM

That's real nice there.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Best of luck - don't think u r ready and I hope I am wrong

Jan 5, 2014, 1:09 PM

Thank u for being a Clemson tiger for life

"Why NOT Clemson"
"Why Not Dabo"

Huge loss for the program but I hope he does well, he

Jan 5, 2014, 1:50 PM

represented our program with class!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He needs to talk to Derrick Hamilton

Jan 5, 2014, 2:01 PM

about what he is in store for and whether or not he thinks he is ready...I bet he has some regrets. Kevin Youngblood was better than Bryant IMO & he couldn't stick on a roster.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: He needs to talk to Derrick Hamilton

Jan 5, 2014, 4:03 PM

I agree....I hope that they bot make it but I doubt either one will be on a NFL roster three seasons from now . That higher draft pick almost forces a team to keep you on the roster . That aides in the maturation process in the NFL .

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Best of luck to all those fellas. Hope to see them playing

Jan 5, 2014, 2:23 PM

well on Sundays. What it means for us is that some of these younger guys are going to have to step up. With Tajh leaving as well that means we lose a big part of our offense.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Best of luck to all those fellas. Hope to see them playing

Jan 5, 2014, 2:43 PM

that leaves three more recruits!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Our TE's better have 80 catches between them next year

Jan 5, 2014, 3:02 PM

Or we might be in trouble with regard to the passing game

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thank them all for being a Tiger and wish them well

Jan 5, 2014, 3:29 PM

in the cutthroat NFL. Wished you juniors would have stayed for your senior years to get better, bigger, faster, and a diploma, but if can get it done in the NFL, you should take the money. Of course, Sammy is the exception and is ready.

Jan 5, 2014, 3:29 PM

Vic Beasley suppose to announce?

Martavis Bryant: Seriously, you should stay. Know you are

Jan 5, 2014, 3:39 PM

excited after a big win, but the next season gives you the opportunity to mature, and you will be the new senior leader (& The Man), and your draft stock will be much, much better. You will go a much lower round than you think this time.

Grass can "look" greener, but it's not finished growing to it's potential yet.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Same for you Breeland.

Jan 5, 2014, 3:41 PM

You will get a much better deal after next season.

I don't know who advised this young man but they should have done their research. This doesn't benefit him what so ever. But what we don't know he may not have really a choice either. College academics are not easy.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

2-3rd round projection and top 100 overall rating doesn't

Jan 6, 2014, 8:58 AM

benefit him?

are you ok man?

Teams always take chances on physical freaks and MB is

Jan 6, 2014, 8:56 AM

FREAK.

He wont be on the board past the 2nd round, mark my words.

He had a consistent 2nd half of the season, big bowl game, and will wow scouts in virtually every WR drill.

With only 61 CAREER receptions, he should have stayed

Jan 6, 2014, 8:59 AM

He would have been the #1 receiver in 2014.

Best of luck anyway.

Re: Football Player Update: Report: Second Clemson WR to enter NFL draft

Jan 6, 2014, 2:17 PM

I'm sure Martavis knows he would likely benefit from one more year, but if his family needs the help now, I say thanks and good luck. You weigh the pluses and minuses and do what you think is best. Blood family before football family is understandable.

I hope he will come back and get his degree.
