Glad this is getting some attention, as it is well past due

I explained this exact tradition to my nephew after we attended the game versus Coastal this past Friday night (his first Clemson sporting event...with many more to come).

And bonus points for the Explosions In The Sky supporting tunes...may Friday Night Lights live on forever.

I graduated in 91 and still remember all the words

It's one thing to be a fan of a football team. It's another thing to be a fan of a university, a tradition and a heritage like Clemson has.

I think this is a great idea, but I have to ask: why not simply extend the tradition by taking off one's hat (if wearing one) and waving it at the appropriate moment? Sure it's not a military cap, but one would hold and wave it the same way. I've done this for a while and seen other people do it too, and think it's a great way to keep a link to the original reason for waving one's hand.

I concur, and do the same.***
