Get ready for the Dip and Rip
Junior defensive end Vic Beasley tallied eight sacks in just 288 snaps a season ago, but hopes to increase that total this season with more playing time and a move he calls the "Dip and Rip." Full Story » |

For 4 years, trying to duck under the tackle and speed rush by them. I think Vic is better suited for it, plus he's an absolute monster

Goodman's first step was too slow until this year

That's mainly due to him being at around 270+. He lost weight this year and against LSU you could see him finally get that burst off the line. Beasly has that in spades from day one and won't have as much of a problem.

I was about to say that Beasley has the speed that Goodman lacked. This year could be interesting.

Sounds more like ducking the tackle and then shucking him by you to me, but I guess we'll all find out soon.

I think our Dline will be in a good place. Here's why:

The talent is evenly distributed.
So if you can force the team to double team Watson or Vic, you still have Reader/Jarret and Crawford/Shaq to worry about. None of our guys are world beaters, but they all are talent and do their job. I think that's why we did well vs. LSU. Mallaciah finally started pulling his weight which forced the Oline to adjust to account for him. Pressure of of vic. Sack. pressure off of goodman. sack.
Should be interesting this year.

By the end of last year our DTs were beating 1on1s

Reader, Watson, and Jarett were consistently using proper technique and getting of one on one blocks, which is why our run D got better as the year went on and the LBs could make more plays. If our DEs can handle one on ones this year which they should see more of as long gas the DTs continue to improve then they'll be a force.

Rip and Dips, I think they were called. Essentially a donut made of pizza.

Sorry Beasley

You didnt "make up" the dip and rip. Its being taught all over this earth as a basic pas rush technique. Simeon Rice and Jason Taylor both used it as their primary move and theyre retired. Its funny to see kids think theyve found something new in life and its just repackaged haha. But you are a beast and I hope to see the dip and rip all the time. Go take Aaron Murrays head off

Vic finished with 18 sacks in my first season of the new game. Led the league including 3 on Connor Shaw and 3 on Manziel in the NC
