Question about coots:

Mar 19, 2013, 1:07 PM

Is "coot" an internet thing, or do people actually use this word in real life? If someone uses the word "coot" to refer to a Gamecock fan, is it necessarily so that they got it from TigerNet, or a similar site?

"IDIOT POSTER OF THE MONTH SO FAR...GWP-- You have won IPM Award for your failure to completely comprehend a clear post & then choose to attack someone who points out your ignorance. While you are not yet in the same No Class Catagory as deRoberts, ClemTiger117 & Tigerdug23, you are getting closer to the Sewer Dwellers." - coachmac

have you ever seen one of them Gamecocks?

"Coot," I called my brother, who has been on the site awhile to ask him what it meant. He laughed and said, "It's what you've always called a Chicken." Oddly enough, around Columbia I say "Gamecocks" or "Chickens," since most have no idea what I mean by "Coots." Don't ask how long it took me to figure out what "Scok" meant.
