Barker knows the conservative nature of Clemson students therefore he is trying to prevent them from voting.

election years. Used to #### me off. Get a four day weekend, come back for two week, get another one for Thanksgiving. Rather have a full week.
Guess they don't do that now.

I'm sure most of the Ohio students who decided to come to Clemson are conservatives also.

Dear Clemson: Classes cancelled Tuesday for Election
James F. Barker FAIA 5:11 PM (10 minutes ago)
to CUSTUDENTS-L Dear Clemson: Tuesday, November 6, is an important day in our nation’s life. I urge every eligible voter at Clemson University – faculty, staff and students – to make voting a priority that day. The University will not be closed, and this is not a state holiday for faculty and staff. However, under some circumstances, employees may be eligible for two hours of administrative leave in order to vote. Consult your supervisor. For students, we have today cancelled classes for Tuesday. If you have a test scheduled that day, expect it to be given at the next class meeting. Online pre-registration will proceed as normal. Please check the website on Monday for more information and specifics about laboratories and other issues. Here’s some background on the lateness of this decision: Our academic calendar was revised a few years ago to move Fall Break from early November to mid-October at the suggestion of students and with their support. At the time, we were not aware of state legislation related to the closing of public institutions on Election Day. I’m grateful to the alert students who brought this law to my attention today. The Calendar Committee will revisit this issue after the election is over. The Provost will follow up with departments and faculty with more information. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Sincerely, --Jim Barker James F. schools get too many days off as it is, college isn't too

far off from the real world, so the students need to get used to going to school (work) when there is a million and a half other things that they would much rather be doing! ok, just kidding, enjoy it while you can, and get all the days off you can, and just miss a few others!

but since they have to travel back to their home polling places its more than just voting after work. Seems to be all resolved now though.
