Jones ...has been rumored to dunk on more than one occasion.

Nov 9, 2011, 12:54 PM

The next few years are going to be fun! I've love to see our team play at the level it was playing when Itoro was playing.

Jonquel Jones (Riverdale Baptist; Upper Marlboro, MD) is the highest-rated signee. The native of the Bahamas is 6-foot-2 and can play anywhere from the point to power forward. The ultra-athletic player can shoot the jumper, rebound, block shots, has great handles, and has been rumored to dunk on more than one occasion. Jones has already requested entry into next year’s Rock the ‘John Dunk Contest. Jones is ranked 36th overall in the class, and is listed as the 7th-best forward in the nation.

“Jonquel is one of the hardest workers that I know at her age,” said Coleman. “She loves the game of basketball and is committed to the vision in place here at Clemson. She’s versatile and athletic on both ends of the floor. She will make an immediate impact to the program once she steps foot on campus.”

Itoro Umoh Coleman - the right hire

Nov 9, 2011, 1:07 PM

I said this the first time TDP should have hired her and even louder when he did the second time. IUC brings the fire needed to the women's basketball program to elevate it to a new level. If she can coach players up anywhere near the level Jim Davis could, the talent she is able to bring in will lead us to the best results at Clemson EVER... and that's saying a lot because the Tigers under Davis were extremely successful due to his outstanding coaching ability. He just couldn't recruit as well.
