Still 1st?

They must not know Kevin Steele kept our offense out of the endzone

Kevin Steele's defense DID keep our offense out of the endzone.. by allowing almost 400 yards of rushing and 39 minutes of time of possession!

The offense had the ball for all of 21 minutes and gained 399 yards. If the defense can get off the field even a little bit, the offense probably would have had over 500 yards and a better opportunity to win the game.

So, although the offense was far from stellar (considering an unusual amount of turnovers), the defense flat out stunk it up.

It's a team loss, but only a blind man would deny that our defense has some serious deficiencies.

By the same logic...

Nov 2, 2011, 5:37 AM

the defense couldn't get off the field because the offense couldn't stay on the field. The defense started the way we needed it to start, and we should have been able to put up points against GT's defense. Our offense gave the defense zero help in this department, especially with putting the ball on the ground.

The defense did not play well, at all, but the offense was absolutely part of the reason why. The defense was on the field so much that they got tired early.

When we settled for 3 on the first drive, I had a bad feeling. Once Tech gets a lead, they are a whole different challenge for a defense than they are when they trail.

The defense gave the offense an opportunity to build a lead and the offense didn't take advantage. Then the fumble deep in our own territory put the defense in a terrible position.

Our defense is not great and overall agaist Tech, they were not too effective at all, but early on, they put the team in a good position to win.
