Hypothetical* if you were the dad of a 5*

Jun 27, 2017, 11:35 PM

And he could go anywhere, BUT Clemson, as if he didn't like them or he didn't get the offer. Who would it be? And why ?

It's actually kind of tuff when you think about all the negatives with some of these places:
Straight NO's just becaUse of the shadness of these coaches/schools etc..
Auburn
Louisville
UNC
SC
Ole Miss
Michigan

And not OSU or USC
5 Official Visits
Stanford- their coach and the academics
Penn St- James Franklin is kind of a used car salesmen but I think he is a good coach and cares about his players
Va Tech- Mountains, close to home, JF is a good young coach
UGA- as a Long Clemson fan I hate them but I do think They are going in right direction, close to home and remember Bama was 6-6 during Saban first year.
Last one I would say do a wild card like Texas, Oregon or Miami

I'd have no qualms with my son playing for him

Bama - period. I lived in Alabama for over 10 years and believe me, they eat, sleep, breathe football. Bama fans love them some football, and live for it. When we beat Bama for the NC, many of us might not realize just what CLEMSON accomplished. I would compare it to David and Goliath. We CLEMSON fans might take years to absorb what we accomplished in that single feat. Our team and coaches had to have worked their tails off to make that happen. Interesting is - NFL scouts didn't really understand what happened there either. Our players should have gone much higher in the draft, and that's not ORANGE Kool-Aid talking.

You win this thread for the day sir

This "line of thinking" is much why some prospects end up where they do

A nicer way of saying what I said in another post that was deleted.

That's what visits are for. I can't possibly answer that

If my son got an offer from Harvard and clemson

Jun 28, 2017, 12:16 PM

His #### would be at harvard.

If he wanted to be an engineer and got an offer from gt or clemson his #### would be at GT.

My 5 star kid would put education before the nfl, nba, mlb.

Different folks have their own methodology, but looking at USNews for just ' engineering' and not the specific type of engineering - GT#4 and Clemson #53.

Providing he had offers from just about anywhere...
It would also depend on what position he played, getting to know the coaching staff,
university, etc..
But in a nut shell....

Florida or Georgia.

Hypothetically

Jun 28, 2017, 5:33 PM

If I even have kids

If he wasn't offered a scholarship and/or didn't like Clemson I'd
A) Tell him to stop being some sort of Coot and get on the Orange Kool-Aid and ground him for 56 days.
B) Force him to walk-on.

If he couldn't go at all but still was going to play ball for someone on scholarship, I'd send him to either Stanford for quality education or Bama to potentially get his dream for NFL (hypothetically my son is going to dream big) and Bama, (I think) has a good vet program (I like animals, I'd want to get mine checked for free).

That would depend on the education and coach. Like previously mentioned, Stanford seems like a great option, until he transferred to Clemson.
