I saw that yesterday. I know it stings them that they're 2nd choice in every way, from academics to athletics to education.... facts are facts. Had this conversation with a coot a while back, and there's no way do get around a simple truth.... when it comes to comparing the two schools, there are lots of USC diplomas handing on the walls of people who would never been accepted to Clemson.
Athletics aside, where Clemson clearly is superior historically in *most* every NCAA sanctioned sport, both in head-to-head competition and in championships earned, Clemson is clearly the greater academic institution in most every category where there are courses of study offered at both schools.
proof?
Lowest acceptance rate for Universities in SC (more coveted) - Advantage Clemson Average SAT score of incoming freshmen - Advantage Clemson Average class rank of incoming freshmen - Advantage Clemson
Clemson is tied for 212th nationwide out 983 4-year schools in earning potential for its 4-year graduates, USC is tied for 494th out of 983. Among all degree holders, undergrad and masters/phd, Clemson ranks 187th nationally. USC? tied for 498th nationally.

And the campus setting? NO COMPARISON.
I lived in W. Columbia from '95 to '03 and worked on Key Rd, driving right past the roach every day. I go back occasionally to visit friends. There are decent parts, sure... but compared to Clemson? It's a cesspool.
Let 'em cry. It doesn't change the facts.

They could read this all day, everyday and still not get it. No wonder a chicken is their mascot.

If you read the Coot boards, those idiots insist that somehow Clemson's administration forges their data to skew those polls. Whatever that means. I see it as akin to these idiots that scream "FAKE NEWS!" any time they read or see something they don't like. The good thing about facts is they don't care if you like them, they are what they are.
Coots hate the truth.

Clemson needs to approach the appropriate finance boards in

the state legislature with proposals to establish a veterinarian school, a pharmaceutical school, a medical school, and a law school ALL within the next 25 years and include plans to raise most/all the moneys required itself.........and have it understood by all involved that should these new requests be denied, that Clemson University MAY CONSIDER removing itself from the financial control of the state and become a private school.....less than 10% of the university's budget comes from the state of South Carolina as it is....I honestly don't know what the procedure to become an independent entity would entail, but we have lots of smart people who I'm sure could figure it out.
One thing is certain: Should Clemson be granted permission to move forward with those new academic projects, all of them would quickly surpass similar institutes at usuck.
With the addition of those 4 new colleges, Clemson University will ultimately enjoy a dynamic endowment from its loyal alumni and friends.

You need to somehow find yourself on the CU BOT. Didn't realize the state funds % was that low.

for accusing posters of being coots. Apparently not even sakerlina's fan sites are okay with that kind of slander.
