god forbid that you would talk about clemson on the clemson flagship station. i particularly like how they make the radio hosts say "they" instead of "we" when talking about the team most of them graduated from.

I thought he was the most professional of all the hosts on WCCP. He's good at his profession. Will be curious to see who they add. I'll listen regardless of who it is. Much better than national hosts

I have no clue but are radio stations like WCCP profitable? Just wonder how much a commercial spot costs. Curious as to how their business structure works.

Do the hosts "buy" the airtime and then it is up to them to sell ad spots to cover the cost of the "buy in" and to make some income?

Yes, I work at a radio station and it's a very small scale operation, yet our nightly show costs $1,800 a month. We get sponsors to cover that bill for us and then play their ads as commercials. The bigger the contribution, the longer the ad time. I.e. McKinney Dodge in Anderson pays us nearly half of the monthly bill, so they get 4 commercials breaks for 30 seconds each

Honestly Philpott was my favorite because he talked more about Clemson than Qualk or Deptula. Hate to see him leave but hope they do put someone in who has a strong Clemson lean.

This was a long time coming but I am surprised that made the announcement the same day as his last show. I figured they'd try to do a week or two of goodbyes. He was the core of their broadcast team. Curious how they will fill this time period.
