Clemson linebacker commit Jake Venables - to me one of the underrated prospects in the 2018 class - weighed in at 228 pounds yesterday. I've added a photo that shows what he looked like before his sophomore year....unbelievable transformation. But it isn't just in the weight room...
Here are some recent numbers...He is running a 4.1 shuttle, and his powerball has been averaging between 43 and 45 and the vertical on the jump mat has been around 32. He hasn't been laser timed in the 40 recently but recent hand times have him around 4.59.
We get to see Jake soon - he will be at the Nike Combine in Charlotte (Nikki and I will be there) and he'll be at Dabo Swinney's camp in June.
Oh, and don't forget that he's a pretty good recruiter, too.

On nana asiedu. Looks like pen stateboicked up 3 crystal balls on him in last couple of days if I read correctly. I thought I was hearing we backed off a little. I hope that means we are getting Jackson Carman. I'm sure you can't comment on that but any thoughts on asiedu?

Yeah from everything I am hearing it looks like Asiedu is heading to State College. I don't know if I would say that Clemson backed off - he's a consensus Top 20 guy - but when word gets out that guys even higher than that are not only in the mix but better than 80 percent, well.....

Could care less about the Stars (although he stands on his own Merits)! All I can say is that Apple did not fall far from the Tree! Our Clemson Family is blessed to have the Venerable's Family ALL-IN!!!!!!!!!
On another Note: Do you think Jake would Sack ole Jimmy Greenbeans???

I expect him to be a really good LB for us. You know coach v pushes him now like he would one of his linebackers and with his dad coaching him the LB from a early age his technique is probably above most high school LB even the ones with more star power. He's going to be a very good player for us just got that feeling!
