Oct 10, 2016, 6:02 PM

In Shelby right now. Thanks for the heads up and we'll let you know how it is.

Can you get me an order of ribs & pulled pork to go?

Oct 10, 2016, 6:13 PM

I'm good for it if you cover the expenses to send it to Santa Barbara. I'll send you back some tri-tip (specialty out this way).

Never been there. How's it stack up compared to others in the state?

For NC BBQ, Keaton's in Statesville is still number one in my book. This is just a shade below that. Still good.

Hey... Not a bad review all in all. I'll take it.

Very well worth the stop

Looks like there are 2 of them in Shelby. Are they both the same?

No, but they are owned by two branches of the same family and two takes on the same original BBQ as far as I recall. Alston's is more "locals" and Red's is more famous. I personally like Red's a little better.

Wilber's in Goldsboro is my favorite but I am partial to eastern NC Q

Don't get lost in downtown Shelby.....

You know there is another Bridges BBQ on US 74 beside the Highway Patrol office. Its pretty ggod, too.

I live in Shelby and my in-laws and I argue over Alston Bridges vs Red Bridges (Hwy 74) all the time. I like Red's but Alston's is darn good too!

David - next time you are in the Shelby area, give Red Bridges a try.
