DHood, TigerBry, TWoods and/or anyone else...

Jul 30, 2015, 5:15 PM

A few questions:

1. Whats the latest on Rashan Gary? I know he's visited quite a few schools and his momma had some nice things to say about Clemson. And I thought he said he will release a top list of schools before his senior year. Has he updated anything? Do y'all like our chances making the cut or do you think I should lower my excitement on him?

Same thing about Dexter Lawrence. I know he's kept quiet about everything but I would LOVE to add one of these guys as an oversign.

2. About how big will the 2017 and 2018 classes be for us? I know players transfer and go to the draft so you really can't say exactly right now but will they be larger or roughly the same size as the 2016 class? It seems like the 2012-2013 classes were pretty big and had a lot of guys leave/expected to leave so I'm hoping 17-18 will be larger classes.

3. Finally, what is the focus for the 2017 class? OT seems to be the obvious answer here. Also, I would like to see a big body class with a lot of interior guys on both sides. Also seems like we need a few safeties and CB's, to go along with a WR or two. Maybe a few LB's?

Thanks in advance!

im not those guys obviously, but here are my thoughts:
1) i don't really know any inside info on Gary, but I do think he will be
tough to get as he is so highly sought after. But I think the first step here,
and also with Dexter Lawrence, is to have them on a visit to Clemson.

2) and then, I just wanted to point out that 247 Sports (Website) recently
released their top 100 players for the 2018 class. Yes, 2018. I know that's a
little ways off, but it's interesting nonetheless. Upon closer inspection of their
top 100 list, you'll find the list of realistic Clemson targets to be impressive.
Starting with the top 5 players nationally. 3 of the top 5 are seriously considering Clemson.
One is a DE from Florence, SC; another is a RB from NC; still another is a DE from GA, who, 2 or 3
weeks ago, was mentioned in an article by the AJC as having Clemson #1 on his list.
And then, a little further down that list is 4*/5* DT Josh Belk, who is also from SC.
Then, there are other guys in that list who are realistic Clemson targets, including
Dakereon Joyner from Fort Dorchester, SC. There are others I could list, but just
check out their top 100 for the 2018 class. It seems to have A LOT of potential
for Clemson.

Sorry I'm late to the party. Here's what I can tell ya....

Jul 30, 2015, 10:22 PM

Sorry for the delay. I'm working some new hours now so bare with me and I appreciate your interest. Nevertheless, let's jump right into it-

I wouldn't rule us completely out for Rashan Gary but the door would appear to be closing a bit. Now I will say that nobody expected us to land Christian Wilkins last year and we did so it's hard for me to totally write us off here for that very reason. As of now, a second visit is not slated for Clemson though. That will be the key for Gary's services. However, the usual suspects in his recruitment would seem in prime position for him including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, even Tennessee is pushing hard, Ohio State, and Michigan- who hired his former coach. Here's an article on this subject- Predictions: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2371948-odds-on-where-monster-5-star-dt-rashan-gary-lands-at-next-level

Here's what I have on Dexter Lawrence and I do believe we could still be a factor here. Worth noting that his mother would prefer it if he stayed closer to home. He's had one of the quieter recruitments you'll find but is slowly opening up. The latest- Received a nomination for the US Army AA Game. Visited NC State in April. Mentioned attending camp this summer however I cannot confirm that happened. He has visited UNC and plans on visiting Ark, Ole Miss, and Bama. Grew up a Gator fan and they are in hot pursuit with an offer of immediate playing time- which he's looking for. UNC, NC State, FSU, Fla, Bama, Clemson, and Ole Miss are all in contention according to reports.

What he's looking for in a school- "Just if the schools are family-oriented, if they do things together," Lawrence said. "All of the coaches into every day and on you, because that's what I'm in right now at my high school.

"All the coaches, if they're religious. Playing as a true freshman, I just want to go somewhere I can play as a freshman."

In regards to the 2017 class, it may be really early to speculate on what we'll take but one could assume it'll be a diverse group that is similar to this class. Below I'll post the 2017 offensive and defensive big boards and a few brief notes on the 2018 class which is loaded with instate talent.

NOTE- If you are on a mobile device and concerned about data usage, PLEASE do not open the below post on 2017 and 2018 classes. As you know, I'm very thorough.

As always, have a wonderful evening and GO TIGERS!

2017 Offensive Recruiting (Long)

Jul 30, 2015, 10:25 PM

Please note that some material may need to be updated.

QB Jake Bentley 6-4 207 Opelika, AL Opelika HS

24/7 gives him 4 stars, the #3 pro QB, and 57th overall. Scout.com also rates Bentley as a 4 star recruit. SigningDay.com gives him 4 stars, the #11 QB, and 108 overall. In 2014, completed 21 of 34 passes for 326 yards and 3 TDs. Rushed for 46 yards on 14 carries including one score. Tore his ACL prior to the 2013 season in a game vs. Apopka, FL. Surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews. Camped at CU on June 5, 2014. Made an unofficial visit on October 19th, 2014. Has offers from App St, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Miami and others.

http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1888061/jake-bentley

In addition to visiting for the 14' UNC game, Bentley was on campus Monday March 23rd. “I kind of grew up going to games and stuff, so it was fun. Great atmosphere, great coaches,” Bentley said. “I’ve known coach (Jeff) Scott for a long time, so it’s always good to go up there and see him, see everything.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCAal9vhWmI

From The Opening "Bentley may have thrown the tightest spirals I saw all day Sunday. He has the size that stands out immediately and he knows the game (Father works at Auburn and he used to run a quarterback camp) as well as anyone. He is very strong fundamentally and his offer list will grow." -Chad Simmons

Showing some eluvsiveness- A great watch-

QB Chase Brice 6-3 190 Loganville, GA Grayson HS
During his sophomore season in 2014, Brice was 126 of 202 passing for 1,759 yards and 19 TDs. Attended 2015 CU spring game. Recently at the Rivals QB Challenge in Atlanta, Brice beat out 80 other QBs to win an all-expenses paid trip to Baltimore for the finals of the event. "I think this is a big opportunity for me to get my recruiting to the next level," Brice said. "This is such a great event to showcase my talents." Holds offers from Clemson, BC, Wake, Colo St, Cal, VT, and several others. Led his team to the state championship as a freshmen.

Find his sophomore film here- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2931327/highlights/179729376/v2

QB Jason Brown 6-2 200 Fredericksburg, VA Chancellor HS

As a sophomore, Brown passed for 1,635 yds (111-214) 19 TDs and 8 INTs. Also rushed for 515 yds and 6 scores. In 2013, went 56 of 119 for 800 yds, 6 TDs and 14 INTs. Ran the ball 84 times for 298 yds and 1 TD. Currently does not have an offer from Clemson. Attended CU's Jr Day and had this to say, “It went very good! I loved everything about it. I really liked how out by the indoor practice facility they have a graveyard and when they beat a top 25 team they put in a tombstone. I really liked the weight room and locker rooms as well. I also loved the stadium.”

http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2935050/highlights/183728375/v2

The latest- Visited VT twice in April 2015.

QB Connor Curry
6-1 180 Shreveport, LA Evangel Christian Academy

In 2013, was 179 of 333 passing for 2758 yards, 28 TDs, and 17 INTs. As a freshman, led his team to a 10-2 record. Named a 2013 All-American Freshman by MaxPreps.com. Named to the Top 50 WatchList. According to HUDL.com, Curry runs a 4.67 40. Offered by Clemson on April 28th 2014, his first major offer. Drawing interest from Ark, Houston, LSU, A&M, and others. Grew up a Tenn fan. His older brother, Tim Curry, was also an elite QB at the HS level.

http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1383588/connor-curry

Short read- "Connor Curry has played more like a senior than a freshman over the past two weeks. In jamboree action two weeks ago, Curry led Evangel to a three-point victory over two-time defending Class A state champ Ouachita Christian.

"I prayed before that last drive for God to give me strength and knowledge," he said, "and it should be a pretty good season for us. I'll continue to give Him the glory."

2013 Highlights-

Quick Interview- http://www.shreveporttimes.com/videos/sports/high-school/2014/08/18/14259179/

“He started as a freshman last year and he’s been really stepping up this spring and this summer,” Dawson told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune in June. “We’re looking for big things out of him.”

Another read- "Curry has more than just good hands, though. As a passer, Curry is very accurate, especially on the run. He also possesses a strong arm and puts good touch on his deep passes. His athleticism, however, puts him on another level. Curry is incredibly quick and agile, using shifty moves and cuts to get out of trouble if the pocket breaks down or during designed quarterback run plays.

When defenders got into the backfield, he could use his legs to avoid the rush and buy himself time to make the big play downfield. Curry isn't afraid to take a big hit either, and will often drop a shoulder into a defender to gain extra yards. One area of improvement for Curry is his long release. He tends to hold the ball at the top of his motion, which makes it difficult to deliver a pass quickly."- from Tyler Kies

QB/ ATH Brandon Gaddy
6'4 240 Norfolk, VA B.T. Washington HS

In 2014, completed 59 of 121 passes for 875 yards with 8 TDs and 6 INTs. He also carried the ball 49 times for 225 yards (4.6 yard avg) and 7 scores. SigningDay.com rates him as a 4* prospect, the #27 QB, and 256th overall. He is being recruited as an athlete. His twin brother, Breyon Gaddy, is a Clemson DE recruit. Brandon has offers from Nebraska, ODU, and Virginia. Plans on camping at CU, Penn State, and ODU. As of 3/11/15 Gaddy claims no favorites.

Film
- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3886382/highlights/213840376/v2

On Clemson- ”They offered about a month ago,” said the 6-foot-4, 240-pound Gaddy. “It’s a really big offer. I like Clemson. Their football program has been very successful and I know they‘re also a very good school academically. I plan on camping there this summer.”

QB Bailey Hockman 6-2 210 Powder Springs, GA McEachern HS

Commited to Georgia in June of 2015. 24/7 gives him 4*, the #4 prostyle QB, and #77 overall. Rivals.com gives him 4*. SigningDay.com gives him 5* and the #1 QB. Named a MaxPreps Sophomore All American. In 2014, was 141-277 2520 yds with 30 TDs and 5 INTs. Also punted 26 times for 1126 yds (a 43.3 yd avg). He's a lefty. Participated in the 2014 US Army AA Jr Combine. Also plays baseball for McEachern. Currently does not have an offer from Clemson but drawing interest. Has offers from Bama, FSU, GA, IASt, UofL, MichSt, WF, scar, and others.

Very high combine praise "If 2017s were eligible for the pressure chamber, no question Top100 quarterback Bailey Hockman from Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern would’ve been selected. His arm talent is never in question, he brings a cerebral demeanor to the field, and he delivered during the competition portion." Here he was going against top names in the 16 class such as 5* QB Jawon Pass, FSU's Malik Henry, Rex Culpepper, and other elites.

Some film-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WobGfpTPTv0

From The Opening "Best arm there? Maybe. He was throwing lasers in the rain and his arm strength has never been in question. He is a southpaw that knows the game extremely well. Hockman plays for his father in high school and he is a gunslinger. He has that swag about him, he feels he can put the ball into any window, and he was sharp Sunday afternoon."- Chad Simmons

A read- The lefty has good size, a quick release, and an excellent arm. He led McEachern's comeback against once beaten Hughes on the road in the rain last week.

McEachern is loaded with young talent including juniors Chuma Edoga and Taj Griffin, four stars on the offensive line and running back respectively. But the field general under center is the youngest of them all as he's just a freshman. Hockman has a long career ahead of him at McEachern and beyond, and his freshman season was extended with a comeback victory last week. Here is a look at him in action against Hughes. If this is the first time you're seeing him, I'd venture a guess it won't be the last. Hockman is going to be a heavily recruited quarterback for years to come. http://recruiting.scout.com/story/1351062-bailey-hockman-a-name-to-know

QB Hendon Hooker 6-4 190 Greensboro, NC Dudley HS

In 2014, was 67 of 108 passing for 1141 yards and 10 TDs. Also carried the ball 79 times for 522 yards and six scores. Clemson is his first major offer. Has visited Auburn in the fall of 2014. Former teammate is Tiger Chris Register. Also plays basketball and Robbie Caldwell attended one of his games.

On Clemson- “I don’t know what it is. I just really enjoy Clemson,” after The Opening-Charlotte. “I have some family members that go there and a teammate who played with me my freshman year who’s already there, Chris Register.”

The Latest- Visited FSU in the spring of 2015. Has a busy summer planned with scheduled stops at Bama, UGA, FSU, ECU, VT, and possibly UNC.

Basketball scout- Hendon Hooker, a 6’4 guard, just finished his freshman season at Dudley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 2017 plays his AAU summer ball with the Team Felton program.

Hooker, while young, showed a lot of promise at the event. He had some handle in the open court, showed ability attacking the basket, and touch from beyond the arc. We are very eager to see Hooker grow as he is trending as one of the best players in the state of North Carolina, for his class. http://www.phenomhoopreport.com/hoops-column-brings-hendon-hooker-nc-top-80/

Mond is a four star prospect ,according to 247 Composite, who ranks him as the #7 dual threat quarterback. Per HUDL.com, he runs a 4.61 40 yard dash and has a 400M time of 49.8. Attended Dabo Swinney Camp and received an offer. While he's noted that Clemson is now high on his list, Mond recently stated in an article that Texas Tech and Baylor have always interested him.

A short read- ”If I were to describe myself to someone, I would tell them that I am a pocket passer who can run,” Mond said. “I am very confident, calm and competitive. I have a very quick release, great mobility in the pocket and a great decision maker. I have heard from other people that it is almost impossible to game plan for me because of my ability to pass and run.” Read more here- http://www.scout.com/college/texas/story/1552492-kellen-mond-a-name-to-remember

Sophomore Highlights- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggyqqTxeCdU

QB Lowell Narcisse 6-3 200 Saint James, LA St. James HS

24/7 gives him 4*, the #3 dual threat QB, and #52 overall. In his teams first game of 2014, Narcisse completed 17 of 34 passes for 320 yds (3 TDs, 2 INTs) and 17 carries for 89 yds (1 TD). His team went 8-5 and 5-2 in region play. During his sophomore year, he went 205-358 3124 yds 31 TDs and 13 INTs. He also rushed for 1402 yds and 18 TDs.

In a playoff game, Narcisse completed 24-of-38 passes for 392 yards and three touchdowns and rushed 15 times for 95 yards and three scores as ninth-seed St. James went on the road and defeated eighth-seed Loreauville 46-8 in the 2A regional round of the state playoffs.

2014 NFTC Houston Film- http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=10969152

Short read- Lowell Narcisse took a snap in the shotgun position in the first quarter Friday and stood with the ball in his hands. Then he waited.

The decision to run or pass was often the correct one for the left-handed sophomore, as he ran for three touchdowns and threw for another as St. James beat Carver 47-14 in a District 8-2A game at Pan American Stadium in City Park.

"We played against that kid last year, and you can see the difference between this year and last year," Carver coach Byron Addison said. "He's being patient. He's not running until (the defense) really breaks down."

http://highschoolsports.nola.com/news/article/-4566853555279430702/lowell-narcisse-leads-st-james-in-8-2a-win-against-carver/

Some film- http://www.maxpreps.com/video/watch.aspx?videoid=efab8bba-720b-4732-bc13-22cec3c2ae05

After visiting Clemson for a 2014 game- “It was really nice. The atmosphere was loud. It was exciting watching them come down The Hill. I really enjoyed it,” he said. “They run kind of the same offense we run, zone read, so it would be an easy transition from high school to college,” Narcisse said.

Film- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2430266/highlights/108999375/v2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dJt0DIH1VA

From WFAA.com- "Another starter as a freshman who played well as a sophomore while still getting his feet underneath him. Picked up early offers from Clemson and Nebraska last March. New SMU coach Chad Morris made the Clemson offer and is already targeting the speedster to stay near home. With his dad a pro player in the NFL and arena leagues, Shelley already is fast and explosive enough and needs only to grow in size and passing accuracy."

RB Kyshaun Bryan 5-11 185 Fort Lauderdale, FL American Heritage HS

4* and #68 overall by 24/7. 4* by Scout.com. Offered by Clemson on May 20th, 2015. Also has offers from FL, FAU, FSU, Mia, OhSt, WVU, and others. ATH Devon Hunter 6-3 210 Chesapeake, VA Indian River HS

A highly rated 4* prospect who plays multiple positions and his athleticism allows him to play the quarterback position (dual threat), wide receiver, and safety. Expect him to be a 5* prospect next season. Stated in an interview that he'd like to play safety at the next level because he likes to hit. He did note that on the offensive side, he enjoys playing WR. 24/7 gives him 4*, an impressive 97.9 grade, the second ranked overall athlete, and #40 overall. According to HUDL.com, Hunter runs a 4.45 40, has a 38" vertical, bench presses 325, squats 435, and runs an 11.22 100M dash. Currently holds offers from over 26 schools including Clemson, VT, Alabama, FL, FSU, UGA, and many others. Last season he camped at NC State, visited them for the FSU game, stopped by UGA, and unofficially visited UNC. He recently took an unofficial visit to Alabama.

As a sophomore in 2014, Hunter received numerous accolades for his play on the field including MaxPreps All-American team as a WR. As a WR, he caught 57 passes for 701 yards with 2 TDs. He also had close to 30 rushing attempts for 313 yards and 8 scores. On Clemson- After Virginia Tech, which he'll be visiting on July 14th, he will head to Clemson. However, no date has been set. ”I’ve always wanted to go visit, but I’ve never gotten down there, so I’m excited about the trip,” he said. “I’m looking forward to just meeting the coaching staff and seeing the environment. I know I’ll also go back to a game sometime.

”I’m in contact a lot with (defensive coordinator) coach (Brent) Venables. I always check in with him and he’s always honest with me, so I’m excited to go down there and learn more about Clemson. He’s a great coach and always tells me to keep working hard.”

Personal bio- Hunter is very close friends with Juquan Yulee and where he goes could influence where Devon goes (I believe he commited to Bama). Enjoys history class and his least favorite class is math, which he got a C in last season. As a sophomore, Hunter made an A, three B's, and a C (in math). One of his favorite athletes is Jerry Rice and on defense he likes to watch Cam Chancellor. VT was the first school to offer him. He said he's watched Clemson since he was little and loves The Hill entrance and he would really like to visit Clemson. His favorite movie is SuperBad, he likes Family Guy, and his favorite NFL team if the Patriots.

Notes from The Opening combine in Charlotte- "The two-way star worked on offense Saturday and held his own against very good defensive backs. He has blazing speed at 210 pounds, yet he focuses on running crisp routes and using his physicality to create further separation. Hunter has a higher ceiling on defense with those same traits, but the threat of him on offense was a more scary thought with each rep he took."

ATH Jamyest Williams 5-9 173 Lawrenceville, GA Archer HS

Rivals.com gives Williams 4 stars. 24/7.com rates Williams as a 4 star prospect, the #9 athlete, and #84 overall. Has a 275 bench, 400 squat, adn 40" vert. Visited for the Deshaun Watson vs scar game. The DB MVP at 2015 The Opening Regional in Atlanta. Ran a 4.4 40 at the Adidas Showcase, a 4.44 40 at Dawg Night, and a 4.45 at GT Camp. He was named First-Team DB MaxSports Freshman All-American (2013). He also earned MVP Freshman at the Army All-American Game in San Antonio, Texas (2013). All-Region Honorable Mention (2013). All-Gwinnett County Honorable Mention (2013). Holds a 3.4 GPA. Has offers from CU, FSU, UGA, GT, UK, Mich, and others.

The latest from The Opening, July 2015- The gambler in the secondary was definitely 2017 Top247 athlete Jamyest Williams, who repeatedly chose to jump the routes to the sideline. Twice he came up with nothing but air, but he also reeled in a pair of interceptions. Williams is a scrappy defensive back in the mold of former LSU standout Tyrann Mathieu. He recently announced a top 10 with Clemson on top, followed by FSU.

From the 2015 The Opening Regional in Atlanta- He took top defensive honors at the prestigeous combine and really opened some eyes. "The Top100 cornerback from Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer has quick feet, is very aggressive and could play corner, nickel or safety on the next level."- Steve Wiltfong

On Coach Reed- ''He's an aggressive coach and he knows what he's talking about,” Williams said. “He played in the league - coached in the league - he knows all about technique and perfecting your craft, every day in practice.”

Further reading on Williams- Archer ATH Jamyest Williams is a versatile athlete who played CB, KR, Slot WR, and even some RB at times on Friday night vs. Sandy Creek. He is not the biggest guy, but showed quickness with the ball in his hands. I was not impressed with him at corner, as he let some guys get behind him on two separate occasions, both leading to big plays, and one going for a touchdown. Williams also missed multiple tackles.

He doesn’t look like an SEC type player, but will definitely play college ball in Division 1. He is very athletic, and has the potential to be a solid WR at the next level. He has big play potential, and Archer tried to get him the ball throughout the game. One play impressed me in the 1st quarter when Williams jumped high for a ball in traffic and used his strong hands to secure the catch after being hit hard by Javon Jackson of Sandy Creek. He also had a couple of catches on swing routes, each going for about 10-15 yards. He showed good agility on short passes and kick returns, making defenders miss and getting an extra 5 yards.

Overall, Williams is good player on offense for Archer--a guy they really like with the ball. He started at corner also, but did not stand out at all on defense. I was a little surprised with his offer list so far, especially at CB, but being a 2017 kid, he has plenty of time to get better. He is a very good player for only being a Sophomore. http://georgia.scout.com/story/1438148-what-i-learned-watching-jamyest-williams

Game film- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iag2Po7lwyw

His take on Clemson- “My favorite would probably be Clemson, right now, I would say. I don’t really have a top-five right now,” Williams said. “How me and the coaches relate, the facilities, the education…the city, it’s a calm city, I could be myself and not get in much trouble.” From October 20th, 2014

“Gunter Brewer (UNC WR coach) has been here and seen him a few times and has made comparisons to Dez [Bryant] and Justin Blackmon in terms of how they looked when they were younger,” Johnson said. “He’s not saying he’ll be anywhere near as good as those guys, but just in the physical tools.”

Notes from 2015 The Opening in Charlotte- The 2017 wide receiver showed good quickness and ran crisp routes, which allowed him to get open all day. Cauthen, who has added a significant amount of muscle to his frame in the offseason, made tough catches across the middle and also showed the ability to beat his opponent downfield.

WR Jalen Barr 6-1 180 Lake City, SC LCHS

He is the guy for us who can make any catch and take it the distance. He is very explosive and we are going to try to get him the ball as much as possible.” Film- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2875847/jalen-barr

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbZyLDaZiWM

Offered by Clemson on 10/28/14.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdm6WIUVJas

“Tee, as a sophomore, is above and beyond anybody I’ve ever had as a receiver,” Gaddis said. “He can jump sky high and make acrobatic one-handed catches like nothing. Once he catches it, he can outrun you or make you miss him. But the most impressive thing about Tee is he’s become a blocker. He’s becoming a complete football player, and that’s impressive for a sophomore.”

Higgins said it will also be difficult to choose between football and basketball.

“I like them equally, it just depends which one I feel more comfortable with,” said Higgins.

But right now, he said that Tennessee football is in the driver’s seat.

“I’m going to wait until midseason of my senior year to decide, but it’s going to be hard to turn down UT,” said Higgins, who is only 15 years old. http://www.knoxnews.com/govolsxtra/football/oak-ridge-receiver-tee-higgins-gets-an-offer-from-tennessee_32471851

From Brett Matthews- "Keyshawn Johnson Jr. can flat-out ball. The talented wideout out of Calabasas High School (Mission Viejo, California) looks to have the same skills his dad, Keyshawn Johnson Sr., showcased during his 11-year NFL career."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ9bpzfIqq0
On Clemson - "I think the Clemson campus is great," Johnson Jr. said. "I talked to coach Jeff Scott for a very long time when I was at Clemson."

He also let us know that he will travel across the country again to visit Clemson. "It was a great experience! And I'm going back for the South Carolina game."

He has transferred schools to Calabasas High (CA) and let us know that he has only played in five games due to the transfer his season. His stats are 25 catches for 400 yards and two touchdowns. http://www.tigernet.com/update/recruiting/Former-NFL-Pro-Bowlers-son-visit-Clemson-17825

From greenvilleonline.com- The 6-foot-1, 185-pound receiver is trying to figure that out. He's scheduled to visit Tennessee in two weeks, and he's not shying away from the thought of leaving sunny Southern California to play college ball. He's considering majoring in computer technology and business.

"I wouldn't say I have a top five. It's kind of early. But Clemson is definitely a favorite along with Ohio State, Tennessee, UCLA and Cal," Johnson Jr. said. "USC is up there a little. I couldn't say a top five yet because I have three more years and I haven't fully seen all the schools. I'm just going off with what I've seen.

"I plan to visit back to Clemson, but I'm not sure when. Clemson is a great school. The community, the atmosphere, the climate, the coaches – everything was a thumbs-up. Nothing made me want to say, 'Clemson is this' or 'Clemson is that.' The only thing I wanted to say is Clemson is a great school, and I'd be blessed to go there one day."

WR Ryan Jones 6-2 200 Charlotte, NC Ardrey Kell HS

During his sophomore year, Jones caught 34 passes for 680 yds and 6 TDs. Has early offers from Clemson, Vandy, UVA, WVU, and others. 24/7 rates him 4 stars, the #14 ATH, and #103 overall.

The latest- Visited by Jeff Scott and Danny Pearman in late April. Also attended CU's spring game.
On Clemson- “That was my second time there,” he told TheClemsonInsider earlier this week. “I really like it there. They have great facilities and all that stuff, so it was good. The locker room is really nice. (Pearman) also showed us what it will look like, the players’ lounge and everything. It’s a lot of stuff in there. It’s nice,” Jones said. “I hear a lot from Georgia, Notre Dame, Nebraska, UNC, Duke, those are the main ones, and Clemson,” Jones said.
Film- https://tape.preps.com/h/nc/charlotte/ardrey-kell-high-school/ryan-jones/freshman-year/101690404/

He attended the Adidas Georgia Combine and was one of the top performers. Woody Wommack writes, "Jones was one of the most impressive receivers in attendance, showing off great speed and ball skills to go with his impressive 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame. Jones is a rising junior, but with his playmaking skills, it's easy to see why he's already gathered offers from Clemson, West Virginia and others."

WR James Robinson 6-3 190 Lakeland, FL Lakeland HS

A four star prospect according to Rivals, Scout, and 24/7 who has him rated as the #34 wr AND 213 overall. Scheduled to attend Dabo Swinney Camp from Thursday June 11th to the Sunday the 14th. Holds offers from Clemson, FSU, FL, Aub, OhSt, and others.

TE Will Register 6-4 220 Chapin, SC Chapin HS

In 2014, caught 18 passes for 262 yds and 2 scores. Per Jim Baxter, "A Class of 2017 player, Register is a big-time talent. Register (6-4, 220) can play weakside defensive end, but I think his biggest upside is at tight end. He has a great frame, great hands, shows very good technique in the run game as a blocker and runs routes like a wide receiver. He is an excellent prospect as a tight end or H-back and is in my top 10 for 2017."

“So far, I’ve been up to Clemson a few times,” he said. “I got invited to their junior day and spring game. I’ve been getting a few things in the mail. I have also been to South Carolina. I would say those are the top schools that are pursuing me.”

Loyalties were split between the two in-state rivals when Register was growing up in Charleston, S.C.

“I grew up in a house divided,” he said. “We had family going to Clemson and Carolina as well.”

Gamecocks quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus and Tigers defensive coordinator Brent Venables both have been by Chapin High to check up on Register. Register plans to make the quick trip to Columbia on March 21 for a Gamecocks scrimmage. Previously, he’s been to a Junior Day at Clemson and attended South Carolina’s Black Magic Showcase Camp as a rising freshman, where he competed quite well with the older prospects in attendance.

Register trains three times a week at Athlete’s Arena in Irmo, S.C., and discussed which aspects of his game he needs to improve on moving forward in his development. He’s been timed as fast as 4.88 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

“I need to be stronger and faster, but that will just come with training,” he said. “I think that with getting stronger and faster, I will have more crisp breaks coming out of routes. I am pretty balanced with blocking and catching. I would not say that one aspect is better than the other.”

There will be several things Register will weigh when it comes time for him to make a college decision.

“I am looking for something that will set me up for the future,” he said. “I am looking for somewhere that is strong academically. Right now, I have a 4.4 GPA. I want to continue to set myself up for the future, not just four years of college football.”

OL Calvin Ashley 6-7 307 Orlando, FL IMG Academy (transferred from Dr. Phillips)

I believe he committed to Auburn. 24/7 gives him 4 stars, the #3 OT, and the #6 overall prospect. Rivals.com gives him 5 stars. Voted a MaxPreps.com Sophomore All-American. Also a 2013 MaxPreps Freshman All-American. Has offers from most majors including CU, FSU, Auburn, PSt, OhioSt, and others.

From 24/7's Chris Nee- "The 2017 four-star offensive tackle recently transferred from Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips to Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. The 6-foot-7, 280-pound offensive tackle is a prototype at the position. He has a lengthy offer list, but FSU sits on top. 247Sports.com ranks Ashley as the No. 6 prospect and No. 3 offensive tackle in the 2017 class."

He plans on camping at Clemson, Aub, and Bama.

OT Noah DeHond 6-7 325 Rochester, NY The Peddie School

A 3* recruit according to 24/7 and the #30 OT. Was a 2016 recruit but is now in the 2017 class. Has offers from Clemson, UofL, UNC, Bama, Wisc, and others. Film- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3083480/highlights/163638381/v2

OL Eric Douglas 6-5 280 Charlotte, NC Mallard Creek

Attended 2015 Dabo Swinney Camp and received an offer. Also visited by Danny Pearman in late April of 2015. Visited spring practice with his mother in March and had plenty of good things to say. Also was on campus for the DeShaun Watson vs UNC game. His father, Eric Douglas Sr., was an All-American and two time all-conference player at S.C. State. Has offers from Clemson and South Carolina. It appears the two are the top competitors for his commitment with North Carolina pushing hard. However Douglas has also mentioned Penn State and Virginia Tech a time or two.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKLT5vLSTP8

Momma likes Clemson- “Mom, she loved the academics part, because they actually want to graduate their players, and it’s a family environment there. It was real good.”

From Michael Clark of Scout.com- "Douglas fires off the ball quickly. He has great feet and shows a good initial punch. Douglas also demonstrates great body control and plays with good balance. Like all players, there are area he must improve. At times, he can play too high. He must also continue to get stronger and add weight to his frame. However, he has the potential to become Mallard Creek's next big-time offensive lineman." -- Michael Clark

Getting to know people- C"oach (Danny) Pearman, he was like, just come to the camp. He said they look forward to recruiting me. So I’m going to go the camp,” Douglas said.”Then, I talked to Dabo Swinney and coach (Robbie) Caldwell for a little bit. That was real good, because I talked to coach Swinney, he said he liked my film and he’s watching me and he had tabs on me, so that’s a pretty good feeling. Seeing the offensive line coach, coach Caldwell, that was good, too, seeing him for the first time."

He told me about his visit up there and said it was very beautiful and that he loved the campus. But, that's all I really knew about Clemson. But I had watched them play on TV and loved them.”

Versatility- Earlier in his career, he was pegged as a defensive tackle, but as he has progressed, offensive tackle is what will best suit him, both at Bishop Moore and at the next level. He'll still see time at defensive end, however, with the Hornets.

"Coaches, they love me at offensive tackle," MacCollister said. "I still love defensive end, but I'm here to play wherever they need me."

Short Read- "When watching the film of Jonathon Maccollister, a 6-4 260 pound offensive linemen out of Deland High School, it's difficult to believe that the road-grader has yet to finish up his freshman year of high school. Maccollister is light on his feet and is mobile and athletic in space while having the ability to drive defenders off the line of scrimmage with a purpose."

We first came in and I saw coach (Robbie) Caldwell at the door and I talked to him, then I saw my recruiter, coach (Dan) Brooks. From the moment we got in those doors everybody was nice. It was awesome. It was a great experience. Everybody was trying to make you feel welcome. I’m just a sophomore. I’ve got two more years to make up my mind, so it’s way too early to determine who’s at the top my list right now,” he said. “I’m just going to take my time with all the recruiting and try and weigh all my choices, to see which one is best for me and my foreseeable future.”

A 4* prospect per 24/7 composite, the #21 DT, and 252nd overall. He is the nephew of former NFL player Tommie Harris. Has offers from Wisc, Iowa, Mich, UofL, Tenn, Tex, and a host of others. In January of 2015, Harris said his top three schools are Bama, Oregon, and Ohio State. He unofficially visited OhST in June of 2014. A rather hard prospect to follow due to his multiple transfers. He left Notre Dame prep in Chicago (where he used to care for his grandmother), to Janeville Wisconsin in the summer of 2014, only to head to North Fayette where his father lives in September of 2014. The transfer left him ineligible for the majority of the season. He unofficially visited Iowa in December of 2014, received an offer, and gave them a verbal. However he soon backed off that in January and reopened his recruitment. A few weeks later he recommitted to Iowa but broke that off in the spring of 2015. It marked the second time he's given a verbal to Iowa only to back off. He stopped by Michigan in March of 2015 and was very impressed with the coaching staff. He unofficially visited Clemson and UGA on Thursday June 4th. In an article with SBNation, Harris stated that he's looking for a defensive line coach who can help him develop into an NFL player and a staff that 'treats its players well.'

"The Ocean Lakes Dolphins romped in a win over Oscar Smith on Friday night. Lineman turned fullback Eric Crosby (SO ATH 6-3 265) had the biggest night of all, rushing for 120 yards and four touchdowns on six carries. Crosby had some fantastic touchdown runs against Oscar Smith, including impressive runs of 46 and 50 yards where he shrugged off tacklers and stiff armed one Tiger tackler, propelling him off his feet and down the field. His play was astounding and is certainly a turning point in his recruitment." - Andy Hilton recruit757.com

From RubbingTheRock.com's Dan Kelley- ''The Tigers will be at a disadvantage going up against the Bulldogs, of course, but the state of Georgia has been pretty good to the Clemson recruiting effort in recent years. They managed to pluck Mitch Hyatt, Austin Bryant, and Shadell Bell out of Georgia for the 2015 recruiting class, and Deshaun Watson and Adam Choice both came to Clemson from Georgia in 2014.

I won’t speculate too much about the kind of impact Herring would make at Clemson, if he were to commit. 2017 is a very long way off and who knows what the depth chart might look like by then. But landing the No. 1 ranked defensive end would obviously be a very, very good thing for Clemson.

Hopefully Dabo Swinney can wrestle another Georgia gem away from the Bulldogs (and everyone else).''

DE Ryan Johnson 6-4 240 Mobile, AL St.Paul's Episcopal

In 2014, had 38 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 QB hurries, and a recovery. Offered by Clemson in early May 2015 per his Twitter account. Holds early offers from Ark, Aub, Duke, Ole Miss, and Vandy.

He plays well in space and got more and more comfortable as the year went on playing closer to the line-of-scrimmage - that's what young guys really struggle with. Another thing he really has going for him." http://northcarolina.scout.com/story/1513062-2017-target-justin-foster

On Clemson- “I had been to (North) Carolina games and I had been to Wake Forest, but the atmosphere at Clemson was totally different,” he said. “The way they treated you, all the schools treat everyone nice, but at Clemson they treat everyone like a family. It feels like a big family thing and all the fans and everything. I really liked that, like how they treated everybody around there and the atmosphere. LB Jaden Hunter 6-3 207 Atlanta, GA Westlake HS

In 2014, netted 89 tackles, 10 for a loss 8 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, and an interception. 1st- team all region team. Runs a 4.67 40, has a 35" vertical, 260 bench, and 435 squat. Hunter visited Clemson in June of 2015 with his mother and a few relatives. He was also accompanied by his best friend, 4 star DE Malik Herring.

Hunter on Bama- "My uncle, Antoine Hunter, played safety for Alabama about 15 years ago or so," said Hunter. "Having him aroiund does kind of influence me a little bit because each time we talk I talk to him about how much I like it and stuff like that. I was kind of surprised a little bit when Alabama had offered because I had just gotten offered by a top-10 school in the SEC. I think it just motivated me to work even harder to just get some more."
Some film- http://www.maxpreps.com/video/watch.aspx?videoid=d6635b85-1fd9-42bb-94ae-a2ffc6579023

Tidbits- Hunter's older brother Tyler Hunter plays for the Seminoles and his time spent on campus has put Florida State out front for early on for the talented youngster.

"Georgia is the school I rooted for growing up but my brother plays for Florida State. One time I spent a week down there for camp. He loves it. The DC (Charles Kelley), he loves me. He always speaks to me whenever I came."

Though Tyler Hunter is a slightly undersized safety, Jaden has the frame to become an athletic 3-4 outside linebacker or a speed rush defensive end in a 4-3. Hunter's mother Brandi Hunter played basketball at Georgia and his father Brice played football for the Bulldogs.

After the Atl MVP Camp (April of 2014)- "Hunter played end as a freshman last season, but he is likely an outside linebacker down the road. He is an athlete first off. On his Clemson visit and the offer- “It was awesome. I really think a lot of him and the program,” McBride told TigerNet. “As soon as he [Venables] did it I looked at my dad and started smiling. I really think after yesterday Clemson is close to the top as well as a lot of the other ones,” McBride said. “They are all great. I'm just blessed so much and I want all of them. But Clemson is a great school.”

What stood out to the four-star prospect?

“I really liked the indoor complex and of course the offer,” he said.

Playing for a coach like Venables is also something that McBride said he can see himself doing in the future.

“He is a great coach and a great man,” he said. “I have a lot of respect for him and I would like to play for a coach like him.” http://www.tigernet.com/story/football/McBride-talks-Clemson-offer-13594

(Venables) said he was talking about I’ve got the size and everything. If I put on weight, that would be great.”

Short Read- The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder jumps off the screen with his size and physical play from the secondary, and his head coach Jet Turner believes he's a legitimate high-level prospect.

"He had 22 tackles against Union," Turner said at Broome High during a scouting visit. "He had a punt block, a kickoff return for touchdown, he rushed for 90 yards, and scored the game-winning two point conversion." According to Turner, the physical safety's future could actually be in the defensive front seven.

"He's going to be an inside linebacker," the coach said. "He's 185 pounds right now. He's going to be 6-2, 220. He might be an outside linebacker, but he's legit. We would love for him to play inside linebacker but we have no secondary, so he's our free safety.

From the Atlanta MVP Camp- "Brown checked in Sunday at 5-11, 157, so he is still on the lean side, but he is long. He is a corner with good size and he could grow into a free safety. Not elite speed, but good short area quickness. He plays older than he is. Only a freshman."

Long before he ever surfaced on the recruiting radar, Gibbs has been trained for these moments on and off the field. He carries a 3.7 GPA and plans to graduate high school early. He’s heavily involved in his church’s youth programs, which Deon credits for keeping his son grounded and humble amid his growing celebrity. " - Sanjay Kirpalani
An Interview-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cgNhMI4jhI

After visiting Clemson on 3/11/15- I had a great experience, it was real cool and I got a chance to talk to the coaches, coach (Tony) Elliott, coach (Mike) Reed and coach (Dabo) Swinney, so it was real cool. I’ve been up there for a couple of practices and spring practice. I haven’t been up there for a game or anything, but I plan on getting up there for a game,” Gibbs said.

From The Opening in Charlotte- There is not much Gibbs does not do well. He could project as a cornerback or safety on the next level, but of course, he is an elite wide receiver too. He is best on offense now, but he worked at cornerback Saturday and he was one of the top three there while being the biggest of that trio. Gibbs is already a five-star on Scout and he performed like one. Not many at his size transition and flips hips as fluid as he does.

From The Opening Finals- The No. 1 CB in the country for 2017, Gibbs was one of, if not the biggest defensive back on the field at The Opening. That being said, he showed he can transition fluidly in coverage, hauling in a pair of interceptions as well. Although 10 Crystal Ball selections are in for the top junior Peach State prospect to head to Georgia, his recruitment is still wide open.

CB Darnay Holmes 5'11 185 Newbury Park, CA Newbury Park HS

7on7 Highlights- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LipXpBKMA3M

"I don't really have a list of who I like the best, but it'll all play out on academics and how their football system is – will they be in the hunt for the BCS championship?" said Holmes, who plans to major in business or a related field. "Clemson is a very nice school. Clemson is going to be a big possibility for me. It's all going to be up to my parents, if they're going to be willing to take that flight for every game. We've never had that talk. They just keep on telling me to stay humble and keep focused on the books. All the football stuff will work out in the long run." Read more below

From April 2015- “I love the way they run down the hill before every game,” he said. “It gets me pumped every single time I watch a pump up video, it shows a couple clips of them running down the hill before every game. I could just imagine myself running down the hill before a game also in a couple of years.”

CB Deon Jones 6-1 180 Washington DC Archbishop Carroll

The Latest- Plans on revisiting this summer for camp with some team mates. Thought to be really high on Clemson and Auburn. Is big on Mackensie Alexander's play and has built a repoir with Coach Reed. “I have a really good relationship with Coach Reed,” he said. “Clemson was my first offer and when I went down there I felt like it was home and I felt comfortable down there. Yes, definitely his experience helps. That is one of the major positives of the recruiting, just knowing his history.” Wants to major in business. “I don't really have a top two, but I'm pretty interested in Clemson and Auburn,” he said.

CB Richard LeCounte 5-10 180 Riceboro, GA Liberty County HS

Sophomore Highlights-

After the Pylon 7on7 Camp- "Another prospect that was active in the secondary Sunday was Hinesville (Ga.) Liberty County 2017 defensive back Richard LeCounte. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect was matched up with slot receivers most of the day, where he was able to record several pass breakups." Luke Stampini 24/7 Sports.

Some 2014 Film-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvKMZvZXycw

The scoop on LeCounte- His biggest asset is his speed. At 5-foot-10, 169-pounds he runs a quick 4.5 40 yard dash. LeCounte started every game for the Panthers playing on both sides of the ball and returning kicks. He had 89 tackles (59 solo) and five interceptions for a 30 yard return average. Offensively he garnered 1,280 total yards and five touchdowns catching the 11 passes for 203 yards and two scores. As a special teams threat he had over 700 yards in kick and punt returns for three touchdowns.

LeCounte played junior varsity as an eighth grader; as a freshman he started every game at free safety for the Liberty County Panthers. His YouTube highlight film had 300,000 hits and was featured on Yahoo Sports.

Game three of his freshman season would just add to the hype. Against Savannah Johnson High School he grabbed three interceptions including two one handed. This led to his first scholarship offer from Florida. The Gators were recruiting McMillan but when linebackers coach DJ Durkins saw how good LeCounte was the Gators could not pass up this player regardless of age. Sports Illustrated featured LeCounte in its Faces in the Crowd section in late September. http://www.nucsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=23100&ATCLID=209502362

Freshman Highlights-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zpqz2cu5Y64

A quick read- "LeCounte is one of the top defensive backs in the state of Georgia regardless of class. He was flipping over receivers trying to make plays Sunday and he worked out at corner and safety. He can cover, he breaks on the ball well, and he showed great range. When the coaches worked his hands, he showed receiver-like hands." Chad Simmons, Scout.com

DB William Poole III 6-0 170 Atlanta, GA Hapeville Charter

Has offers from Clemson, Bama, UGA, scar, VT, Tenn, and others. Grew up a UGA fan. On the offer from UGA- "All I can say is dreams come true, Georgia has been my favorite school since I was a child and the offer is a blessing. CB Melvin Rouse 5-9 170 Charlotte, NC Charlotte Latin School

He had 4 interceptions, 25 pass breakups, and 35 tackles at corner in 2013 and returned 3 punts and 1 kickoff for touchdowns on special teams. CB Stanford Samuels 6-2 175 Hollywood, FL Charles Flanagan HS

A 4* recruit according to 24/7, Scout.com and Rivals. Recently named a Top 5 of Bama, FSU, UGA, LSU, and scar. Has offers from Clemson, UofL, Miami, Mich, UNC, OU, Tenn, and others. Clemson offered on March 11th, much later than most others. His dad played DB at FSU from 99-03. "He has good size and technique for the cornerback position as he patterns his game after NFL elite players Patrick Peterson and Richard Sherman. He also plays some quarterback for his high school." Samuels also plays baseball and is known to be a good hitter. He's said he'll graduate early. Highlights- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3235484/stanford-samuels

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A34FNS41T-U

"Georgia was always one of my favorite teams growing up," Samuels said. "I have a lot of family near Georgia and in the Atlanta area, so that's always a plus.I love the game day atmosphere and I like their coach's personalities," Samuels said. "I have a great relationship with Georgia and they're a good time. They have a great coaching staff and a family type of program. I talk to them every couple of days and I plan on visiting this weekend for their junior day."

Outside of getting stronger over the next two years like all young prospects, Samuels is the total package at cornerback. The sophomore out of Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan plays with great technique and can flip his hips and run with ease at 6-foot-2.

He's an instinctual player who shows good change of direction and burst as well. Also, Samuels is light on his feet and does a good job of swinging his head around in time to make plays on the ball.

On Clemson- "It's real nice. I like it."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCuztexxVZQ

"He is a good one now and he is going to be a very good one," said Coach Carter. "He is a physical kid who makes a lot of plays for us. Coaches have been talking to me about him since he was a freshman and he is going to have a lot of offers. He has a bright future." Scout's Chad Simmons' says: Remember this name. It is early, but Robinson flies around the field, he plays with aggression, and he delivers some huge hits at safety. He closes on the ball well, he can come downhill, and he is a prospect that will attract big offers over time.

From The Opening in Charlotte (2015)- Robinson is a long, lean athlete, who covers a lot of ground in the secondary. He was quick in and out of his backpedal. The 2017 safety did a nice job of reading the quarterback’s eyes, showed good instincts and made several nice plays on the football.

S/ATH Savalas Cann 6-1 190 Bamberg-Ehrhardt

24/7 gives him 4 stars, the #8 safety, and #102 overall. Scout.com also gives Cann 4 stars. Is the younger brother of AJ Cann. Has offers from Clemson, Auburn, Fla, UGA, scar, NCSt, UNC, KSt, and others. Film- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4312081/savalas-cann

From Coach Crosby- "There is not much Cann does not do well in the secondary. He is still a little light for a safety that loves to deliver big hits, and he does most things very well. He makes plays, he has exceptional hands, he closes on the ball well, and he has shown great bursts out of his breaks. He could get a look at corner too because of his feet and quickness. He is an all around athlete with big-play ability."
http://clemson.247sports.com/Article/Death-Valley-Insider-Profiling-The-Freak-28813177
"He plays with great maturity for his age and he is very smart in the secondary. He tracks the ball well, he has very good ball skills, and he covers a good amount of ground. He is going to get bigger, stronger, and he will become better in run support."

In 2014, Fagan had 83 tackles and 5 INTs. Has offers from Clemson, FSU, Cincy, Duke, FIU, UCF, WVU, scar, Wisc, and others.

Film- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3901726/highlights/151852817/v2

An article- Most of the offers have come through the coaching staff at Mainland, but Fagan did see one coach in person during a school visit from Clemson co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott. Coaches have told him they like his size.

"They just told me that they liked my film," said the 6-foot-2, 182-pound Fagan. "They like the way I play and that I'm lengthy and long and that I can come downhill [help defend the run] .. stuff like that." "I think I did pretty well being a sophomore and having five interceptions to lead the team," Fagan said. "I feel like I accomplished some goals. We had a Florida State commit on the other side and that's why they picked on me a lot, but I just had to show them I couldn't be picked on."

Now, with Westbrook moving on to FSU and cornerback Meiko Dotson headed to Georgia Tech, he'll become the leader in the secondary, but he said the two players have helped him grow as a defensive back.

"It's fun being around A.J. He's very humble. He doesn't talk a lot, but once he gets on the field, the way he plays shows people why he's going to Florida State," Fagan said. "He's like a big brother to me and he took me to a couple of FSU games with him so I can get that experience early. "Him and Meiko teach me a lot about the college recruiting process and all of that stuff."

Florida State is one offer Fagan is still awaiting.

"I like them a lot and that's where my mom wants me to go," Fagan said.
http://touch.orlandosentinel.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-82597604/

On Clemson- "I don’t know a lot, but I like their program. I like the way they run it,” he said. “I liked when Sammy Watkins was there. They just feed their beasts, they feed their animals. I like their defense. I like them a lot.”

Florida and UCF hosted him on campus for visits earlier this year and he hopes to make it up to Clemson sometime soon.

“I’m trying to make some arrangements, so I can come up and see the campus, the coaches,” Fagan said.

“I don’t really have a favorite, but Clemson is really up there,” Fagan said.

According to HUDL.com, Pryor runs a 4.42 40, 330 bench, 430 squat, 10.8 110, and 49.00 400M.

From Chad Simmons last fall- "Let me say this -- Archer was well represented on Sunday. Pryor may have been the best of the bunch. He was impressive from start to finish and he drew a lot of praise from the Nike coaching staff. He showed very good footwork in drills, quickness, ball skills, and the ability to cover. He is wide open early with over a dozen scholarship offers. Good chance he starts out in the Scout 100."

From Steve Wilfong on Pryor n Williams- "Pryor is one of the top cover safeties in the country, and Williams is such a competitor, quick, fast and fluid, he ran a 4.38 on this day."

Deciding factors- “Definitely academics, that’s the first part,” Pryor said. “I want to make sure I have a good relationship with my coaches, not only for me, but for my family, too, to make sure that they’re comfortable.”

S Baylon Spector 6-2 190 Calhoun, GA Calhoun HS

Rated by 24/7 as the #22 safety and #284 overall. His father, Robbie, played wide receiver at Clemson from 87-90. Offered by Clemson on June 9th, 2015 after attending camp at Clemson. He also unofficially visited Clemson in August of 2014. Currently hold offers from Clemson and Duke. For film- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4088366/baylon-spector

“I had a great first day when I was down there. Talked to coach Swinney a little bit and then coach Venables was talking to me a lot later that night. He talked to me a lot, then I went to the linebackers the second day, had a real good day, did some 1-on-1’s and did real good.” On day one of camp Spector worked at free safety. He went to work with the linebackers after Venables invited him to make change positions. “(Venables) told me that he thinks that’s my natural position will be linebacker, so I might end up there if I put on the right weight."

QB Ben Batson 6-0 172 Central, SC D.W. Daniel HS

Runs a 4.7 40,225 bench, and 300 squat per HUDL.com. Was at 2015 CDS Camp. Recently
attended the Orange and White game. Trains with QB specialist Ramon Robinson. "While he hasn't had any contact from colleges yet, Batson has a few schools already on his list of places he'd like to play, including Auburn University and the University of Georgia. Although, if he could play anywhere in the country, Batson said he'd pick Clemson University." http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3395622/ben-batson

QB Joey Gatewood Jacksonville, FL Bartram Trail

Attends the same school as former Tiger Kyle Parker. Also attended FSU's spring game.

QB Dakereon Joyner 6'1 175 North Charleston, SC Fort Dorchester HS

Led his team to an 11-3 record. Earned a share of the conference title. Reports say he runs a 4.54 40 time. Attended 2015 CDS Camp and has been to Clemson a number of times. Is a 2014 MaxPreps Freshman All American. Currently holds offers from UNC, UGA, and scar, who offered him before he ever took a varsity snap. Wears the number 5 because he lost his father 5 years ago. All three 24/7 crystal ball projections have him going to Clemson. He visited CU for the CU vs. UNC game. Grew up a UNC fan but has said he's backed off of them. I believe he visited for the CU vs scar beat down. Food for thought- he just turned 14 prior to the start of the season. Is a really close friend of 2016 OL prospect John Simpson.

The latest- Unofficially visited Clemson again in May with team mate John Simpson. “He offered for me to come, too, so I went up there. It was good to get that 1-on-1 time with Coach Elliott. It was pretty awesome.” Also spent time with TE coach Durrell Barry who also attended Fort Dorchester.

“I am leaning more towards Clemson. It's how close I am to the people up there and how close I am to Deshaun Watson and all of the coaches,” he said. “And Coach Swinney, he is a special coach. I would love to play for Coach Dabo Swinney. Knowing that he just signed an extension to a contract, I know he will be there for a long time and I don't have to worry about him leaving or even Tony Elliott leaving.”

2014 stats (in split time with senior Kobe Garrett): 43-92 529 yds 3 TDs, 2 INTs. Ran for 231 yds and a score. 4 receptions for 26 yds.

Article (video of this interview is below): NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – This week's Athlete of the Week already has a scholarship offer from South Carolina before ever playing a single down of varsity football.

Fort Dorchester has plenty of current professionals who started as Patriots, many of whom were coached by Steve Laprad.

But 14-year-old Dakereon Joyner could be better than all of them. It’s a path still untraveled for the teen.

“We've had a lot of good athletes, been fortunate. But I've never had one this mature who handles his business like this. He loves the game, loves playing, practicing. He doesn't mind working hard. The biggest thing for him is how he handles the next four years,” Laprad said.

Without ever stepping out onto the field, he’s already pulled in an offer from Steve Spurrier.

“I had just turned 14. The first thing I did was thank God, without Him I can't do anything, then I thanked my Mom and my sister,” said Joyner.

Spurrier saw what Laprad saw in Joyner.

“You get kids, we coaches call it the ‘it factor.’ Some just have it. I don't know where it comes from. He's got about six helpings of it,” Laprad said.

But the thing that pushes a boy to play like a man, a forced maturity, is the loss of his father five years ago.

The number 5 on his back is a reminder of what pushes his heart.

“It helps me, the stuff my dad did in high school. I want to do the same things. I want to accomplish his goals and beat his records,” Joyner said.

“I can tell it's a motivating factor for him. His mother makes sure he does the right things. She's tough; it's good. Very educated, great job. She's a great role model. I see it out here,” Laprad said. “He has that extra gear. If that's from his dad, wow. I think it tells you what kind of kid he is.”

On the field, he stands out because of how he carries the football. Off the field, the attention is on how he carries himself.

“Every morning, he comes in and shakes every coach's hand. Every morning. He's usually the first one on the field. That's the difference. Everybody knows how good he is, but it's the way he handles it,” Laprad said.

The young man with a plan is humbly handling his business with a smile, knowing he has a long way to go.

“I have four years to think about it. I have many ideas. I’m looking at USC, but I have four years to think about it,” Joyner said.

But first, he still has to take the field for that first Friday night under the lights.

An article from the C&P: Fort Dorchester's Dakereon Joyner: Better than Carlos Dunlap, Robert Quinn and Byron Maxwell?

When it's all said and done, freshman quarterback Dakereon Joyner will be the best player to ever put on a pair of shoulder pads at Fort Dorchester High School. At least that's the opinion of Patriots head coach Steve LaPrad. Considering the number of talented players to pass through Fort Dorchester, that's a pretty bold statement from the coach.

Three of LaPrad's former players currently are starters on NFL teams - Cincinnati defensive lineman Carlos Dunlap, St. Louis defensive lineman Robert Quinn and Seattle defensive back Byron Maxwell. Dunlap was the MVP of Florida's win over Oklahoma in the 2009 BCS national championship game. Quinn was second in the NFL in sacks last season with 19 and signed a $65.6 million contract over the summer, and Maxwell started in the Seahawks' secondary during last year's Super Bowl run.

"Carlos, Robert and Byron were all great players, great athletes and have gone on to have great careers, but I believe that Dakereon will be the best we've ever had here," LaPrad said.

It's not just Joyner's freakish athletic ability that makes LaPrad believe in his young freshman quarterback, it's his mental approach to the game.

"Dakereon is mature beyond his years," LaPrad said. "He's a great student in the classroom and he's got a very high football IQ. He studies the game. The difference between Dakereon and those guys is his ability to process information and the way he deals with different situations.

"Every time he steps on the field, he learns something new and when he makes a mistake, he doesn't make it a second time. At 14, that's special."

LaPrad said he first noticed Joyner during an impromptu workout with middle school players two years ago. An assistant coach told LaPrad that Joyner, then 12, had just run the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. LaPrad couldn't believe it, thinking the coach had started the stopwatch late. Joyner ran it again, this time finishing in 4.48 seconds.

"That got everyone's attention," LaPrad said. "The middle school coach said he didn't want to start Dakereon at quarterback because he wouldn't stay in the pocket. I told him I didn't want him staying in the pocket."

As an eighth-grader, Joyner skipped over the B team and played for the Patriots' junior varsity, normally reserved for ninth- and 10th-graders. He averaged nearly 200 yards of total offense a game.

"Here's an eighth-grader playing Class AAAA football at junior varsity level and in most games, he was the best player on the field," LaPrad said. Over the summer, LaPrad took Joyner to a passing camp at South Carolina. After just a handful of throws, Joyner had a scholarship offer from the Gamecocks.

"It didn't take long for South Carolina's coaching staff to realize that Dakereon was a player," LaPrad said.

Last weekend, Joyner attended the Clemson-North Carolina game and had a pre-game meal with Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris.

"I gotta believe that every school in the country will offer him before he's done," LaPrad said.

The attention doesn't seem to faze Joyner. "I don't think about it," Joyner said. "If you start to believe what everyone is telling you, then you're in trouble. Each day I just want to work hard, grind it out and get better."

Working Joyner into the Patriots' offense was a problem for the coaches early this season. Fort Dorchester already had an established quarterback in senior Kobe Garret, but LaPrad knew he had to get his talented freshman more involved in the Patriots' offense.

Joyner played most of the first five games at wide receiver, catching just four passes.

After losing to Goose Creek, 17-0, LaPrad decided it was time to put Joyner at quarterback and have Garrett become more of a running back/slot back dual threat.

"Kobe is the leader of our football team and he's our best runner," LaPrad said. "I think this makes us a better offensive team and Kobe has been great about the switch. He's going to play in college and they want him as a slot receiver, so this is a good change for him."

Joyner didn't know he was starting for the first time until just before kickoff against Wando last Friday night.

"If I had known all week I probably would have been nervous, so I'm glad they didn't tell me until that night," Joyner said.

Joyner had nearly 200 yards of total offense and threw two TD passes in the Patriots' 24-0 win over Wando.

"Wando threw a lot of different looks at him, a lot of different coverages and he handled it all really well," LaPrad said. "Don't get me wrong, there's still a whole lot of room for improvement, but for his first start he acted like a senior who'd been starting for the last four years." http://www.postandcourier.com/article/20141002/PC20/141009818

More reads: You think smooth when watching Dakereon Joyner. He is a freshman. He is 14 years old. He is just a couple of games into his high school football career. He is good.

Joyner glides down the field and he has a burst when he gets the ball at this younf age. He has grown up playing a lot of quarterback, but will likely be recruited as a wide receiver. One school has seen enough to offer him a scholarship.

"I went to camps at South Carolina and N.C. State over the summer and one day after camping at USC, they offered me a scholarship," said Joyner. "Coach Spurrier called my coach when we were on our way to a 7-on-7 and offered me.

"After telling my coach that, I talked to Coach Spurrier and he just told me to stay humble and not to get the big head. It was exciting and I was shocked by the offer. It almost brought me to tears."

Clemson was at his school Friday afternoon, then at his game Friday night, so the Tigers have their eye on the 6-foot-1, 170 pound freshman. Alabama recently called his coach to check on him too. Joyner traveled from his home in Charleston, S.C. to Columbia Saturday to see a great game between Georgia and South Carolina. He liked what he saw.

"It was my first South Carolina game. It was exciting and I liked the way they treated me. I actually felt like I was on the team when I was in the locker room after the game. After the game, Joyner spoke with current Gamecocks Mike Davis and Dylan Thompson as well as coaches, Steve Spurrier, Jr. and Everette Sands. He has high interest in the Gamecocks.

"I like South Carolina, Clemson, and Georgia," said Joyner. "I grew up a fan of North Carolina, but my interest is not the same now as it was in them.

"I like the three schools that I like right now because they are close to home. I do not want to go far to college."

The early offer from the Gamecocks is Joyner's first, but it will not be his last. Schools are already attracted to the 14-year old playmaker.

"It is my style of play [that schools like]. I am a very cool player, I set the tone, and I am team player. I also make guys miss and out-smart linebackers and defensive backs when I have the ball in my hands." http://recruiting.scout.com/story/1451036-dakereon-joyner-s-a-name-to-know

Article on still grasping the game: ...Joyner, who took over as the Patriots starting quarterback a month ago, had flashes of brilliance against Colleton County, but also had moments when he looked like a 14-year-old kid making his fourth career start.

Joyner completed six of 18 passes for 134 yards, but missed several wide open receivers throughout the game. Joyner took over for Garrett, who had been a two-year starter for the Patriots.

"Kobe is our best running back we've got and Dakereon is our best passer," said Fort Dorchester coach Steve LaPrad. "We needed to get them both of them on the field, and having Dakereon at quarterback seemed like the best way to do it."

With Joyner struggling with his accuracy Friday night, Garrett took over at quarterback in the third quarter and immediately led the Patriots on two scoring drives.

"Kobe is still our guy, he's the leader of this team and I thought putting him back there might settle things down," LaPrad said. "Kobe is a tremendous playmaker and we need to get the ball in his hands as much as possible."

Garrett capped an eight-play, 59-yard drive with a three-yard TD on the Patriots' opening possession of the third quarter.

After a Raquan Simmons' 52-yard punt return for a TD, Garrett found Diondre Champaigne for a 25-yard TD pass to put the Patriots up 29-0 late in the third quarter. Garrett rushed the ball 10 times for 55 yards and completed three of four passes for 48 yards and caught two passes for 29 yards.

"Dakereon is a great quarterback and he's going to be really good over the next three years," Garrett said. "Coach put me back at quarterback to kind of settle things down and get everyone back on the same page." http://www.postandcourier.com/article/20141017/PC20/141019356

Might be a buckeye lean- "The Ohio State offer meant a whole lot to him," his dad said about Jr.'s offer. "That offer let him know hard anything he dreamed about is possible. (Larry) Johnson is a great guy, and he's very honest about his opinions. He doesn't sugarcoat anything and that's something we like."

From his line coach- "We've got a kid — a running back — coming in next year," Harris told Eleven Warriors in May. "He's going to be great. Not good. Great. Game highlights- With time winding down in the first half of the Bulldogs’ game against No. 5 Patriot on Friday, Slade caught a screen pass from quarterback Donovan Williams . He tested the interior of the Patriot defense and used that excess energy to shed a half-dozen tackles and cut back across the field, sprinting for a 22-yard touchdown — one of his eight scores in a 66-41 win over the Pioneers. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/highschools/ricky-slades-eight-touchdowns-power-hylton-football-past-no-5-patriot/2014/09/26/58c2966c-4336-11e4-b47c-f5889e061e5f_story.html

RB Zamir White 6-1 205 Laurinburg, NC Laurinburg-Scotland County

Holds an offer from Clemson. Runs a 4.45 40 time according to HUDL.com. On his very first carry, White raced 65 yards for a score. In 2014, he carried the ball 155 times for 1,231 yards and 18 scores. In February of 2015, he stated that Clemson and Oregon are his leaders http://www.scout.com/college/north-carolina/story/1521526-2018-target-zamir-white . Also has offers from FSU, UGA, NCST, OHST, and others. Film- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4620716/zamir-white

Per his coach-
“Like I told Coach [Larry] Fedora before they offered [White], I coached Todd Gurley in the Shrine Bowl and I envision Zamir being a Todd Gurley type of player,” Bailey said. “He’s going to be bigger than Todd, because Todd was about 205 as a high school senior. Well, Zamir is 6-2, 200 right now. By the time he becomes a senior, he’s going to be 6-2, 225 and run a 4.5 [40-yard dash]. He is a rare combination of size and speed. He has good balance, vision, and if you watch his film he has that uncanny little slide cut. In today’s zone running scheme, you need to have that to be able to run that play. He also has excellent hands out of the backfield. And he’s very physical – for a ninth grader, he’s not afraid.”

ATH/ WR Mike Hallmon 6-3 185 Arlington, VA Woodbridge HS

Currently does not have an offer from Clemson as of June 2015. Per PrepForce.com, Hallmon runs a 4.5 40 and has a 265 bench press.

ATH E.J. Humphrey 5-10 170 Greenville, SC Powdersville HS

The Overall MVP for the NUC Youth All-American Game would go to none other than EJ Humphrey. He touched the ball six times in the contest for an amazing 250 yards and three scores. Has two sisters at scar and one at Bama. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4483817/ej-humphrey
From the NUC AA Game- "Nolan Arrington would complete the first pass of the game hitting speedster EJ Humphrey on a fade. Humphrey would then ###### the ball out of the air like a tennis ball and race to the end zone putting the South up 6-0 with 11:16 left in the first quarter." He also returned a kickoff 35 yards, scored on a 85 yd run, scored on a 42 yd run, and snagged an INT.

Rarely will you see one player dominate a game the way Humphrey did in this highlight.

ATH Tyreke Johnson 6-1 175 Jacksonville, SC Trinity Christian Academy

As a freshman in 2014, had 35 tackles, 7 PBUs, and 3 INTs. Also had a punt returns for 68 yards. The versatile athlete also carried the ball 8 times for 117 yards. Named a Youth1.com Freshman All-American. Clemson, FSU, Duke, LSU, scar, and others have offered him. He's unofficially visited FSU 5 times. His brother, De'Andre is an FSU commit.

A short read- "Already built like a college safety, Tyreke’s combination of size (6-1, 172) and speed (4.6 40-yard dash) are virtually unparalleled for a prospect of his age. It is his uncharacteristic size and athleticism which have allowed a couple of FBS programs to deem him worthy of a scholarship offer before he even reaches his final year of middle school." http://www.southernpigskin.com/recruiting/an-unprecedented-family/

ATH Mike Jones 6-1 200 Lebanon, TN Friendship Christian HS

As a freshman in 2014, had 10 rushing TDS and 11 TD passes. On defense Jones recorded 60 tackles with 13 sacks. A 2014 Eastbay Youth AA. Also named to the USA developmental team His father played in the NFL and his brother attends Tenn.

WR Demarcus Gregory 6-3 194 Duncan, SC Byrnes HS

Played sparingly during freshman season due to a nagging hip injury. Has the size and frame that should see him turn into the next star wide receiver from Byrnes. Has all the tools, loves to learn the game, and carries a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. -Kerry Fair of SCPrepNation.com

http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3371249/demarcus-gregory

“He will probably see some action, but he’s behind that talented group of receivers at Byrnes,” Kerry Fair said. “He’s already 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-3, 175 pounds and is a highlight reel waiting to happen. He’s probably ‘the next big thing’ out of Byrnes and that’s saying something at his age. Think a possible Sammy Watkins-type playmaker if he keeps progressing the rate he has and his doctors say he may end up in the 6-foot-4 to 6-foot-6 range before he’s done growing.”

WR Mike Hallmon 6-3 185 Arlington, VA Woodbridge HS

4.5 40, 265 bench. Unofficially visited MD (1/17/15) and UNC (1/24/15).

WR Camron Johnson 6-0 185 Brentwood, TN Brentwood Academy

In 2014, Johnson had 32 receptions for 642 yards and 9 TDs. Stood out at the Atlanta Opening 2015 camp. Ole Miss, Tenn, and Vandy have offered.

OL Will Lawrence 6-4 280 Memphis, TN Harding Academy of Memphis

Could be the top OL prospect in the 2018 class and his talents cannot be reiterated enough. Named a CBS All-American and a MaxPreps All-American. Remarkably, Lawrence started 11 games for his team as an 8th grader. For his efforts last season he was also named 2nd team All-District . Robbie Caldwell is his main recruiter and the two have built a close relationship consisting of frequent phone calls. From a previous visit to Clemson, had the following to say, "I liked the coaches, the facilities, everything. It was a great visit." Already has over 28 offers including Clemson, Bama, Aub, Okla, OhSt, Ore, and many others. Though he has no favorite, Lawrence did mention that Clemson, Auburn, Texas, Bama, and UGA are after him the hardest. Both his father and his uncle played D1 football. He's an excellent kid with a "yes sir/no sir" mentality. He actively participates in a shoe drive which provides apparell for orphans in countries such as Russia. For highlights- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3052412/will-lawrence

Could Clemson be the right one- "I'm look for a family environment, a Christian environment and then after that I look at the coaches and everything boils down."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up_llq-Meck

A great read to put his talent in perspective- At an age when most 13-year olds are worried about the onset of acne, updating their Facebook profile, and savoring the opening days of 8th grade, Will Lawrence is starting at left tackle for one of the nation’s most prestigious private high schools.

The 6’3?, 250-pound Lawrence has more than held his own in the first two games for The Harding Academy (Memphis, TN), piling up six pancake blocks, allowing no sacks, and opening the eyes of his coaches.
“Will Lawrence is a once-in-a-lifetime prospect. One of those kids you pray comes along. A highly-coachable player who can’t wait to be come in every day and is so eager to be successful,” The Harding Academy’s offensive line coach Justin Banker gushed.

“We are extremely excited about Will’s future. He is so far along in his development and fundamentals. Starting an 8th grader is uncharted territory. But Will has that rare maturity and technique to handle it,” Banker continued.
The experts at Youth1 certainly agree. Last week, the online publication on youth sports rated Will Lawrence its highest-ranked lineman in the Class of 2018 and the #9 overall talent in its popular Elite 101 listing.

Scouts take- “Will Lawrence is as fundamentally sound an offensive lineman as I’ve seen in five years of scouting and reporting on youth football. Often at this level, offensive linemen have significant baby fat and get away by just leaning on their opponents. Will, however, is in great shape and is already practicing the technique to make him the cornerstone of offensive lines for years to come if he keeps developing on the field and in the classroom,” declared Youth1 editor Alan Popadines.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glD2jzs5jy4

High praise- “Will Lawrence consistently has great reads and demonstrates great technique. That technique, even against bigger, older opponents, is Will’s greatest attribute. His reach and quick feet coupled with that size is a lethal combination for a young lineman.” Erik Richards, FBU’s Executive Director

They can't say enough about this guy- “We’ve had a lot of amazing prospects come through since 1980, including Bo Jackson. But as far as young linemen go, Will Lawrence has as amazing a skill set package as I’ve ever seen in an 8th grader. Mentally and technique-wise, he is already as good as any junior or senior. When his strength catches up as his body fills out, it’s over. I have no doubt Will will be the top high school lineman in the nation.” Matthew Joseph, Director of The National Scouting Report

Very humble prospect from a great family- “My parents adopted my little brother Thomas (7) from China. He has cerebral palsy and autism. His nutrition comes from a feeding tube. I love him very much and he brings tremendous joy to my family and me. Thomas doesn’t walk very well and will never play football. I realize the physical gifts God gave to me. I don’t take them for granted,” Will Lawrence emphasized.

From April 8th per his Twitter- "Just got offered by Florida State Seminoles. @FSU_Recruiting Look forward to being a Seminole one day.@CoachLawing"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWogjsf5zZQ

Short Read- The 6-foot-3, 235-pound linebacker already has the build of, at the very least, a high school senior, with plenty of room to develop. It's only September, yet Thomas has already put together enough bone-crushing hits to fill a highlight tape. In two games, he's recorded 13 tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles. He has also registered a safety.
Wilson head coach Chad Eaddy described Thomas "a total beast" who also happens to be an excellent student, enrolled in the school's international baccalaureate program. Eaddy thinks Thomas could have a future playing on Sundays.
"We have several guys currently in the pros and believe he can be the next," he said.

On the recruiting process- ”It feels good, but I didn’t expect the attention,” he said. “(Wilson head coach) coach (Chad) Eaddy and my mom have told me to just stay humble. So that’s what I’m going to do and I’m going to keep working hard every day.”

Temper expectations on Gary. His uncle did say we would get an official but I'll believe when I see it.

I'll get really excited if Lawrence visits. He only went to Bama's camp this summer.

To be honest, I'm not sure the coaches will continue to persue another DT once Pinckeny commits.
