Anyone travel to Syracuse in 2013?

Mar 29, 2015, 9:42 PM

If so, where did you stay? What did you do besides the game?

Does anyone know if any of the hotels have a shuttle to the game?

Going to the game this fall and will make it a long weekend. Trying to decide between staying all 4 nights in Buffalo or 2 in Syracuse and 2 in Buffalo. Buffalo is 2-3 hours away but fairly close to Niagra Falls and I've never been there.

Yes!

Great trip and will not give you all the details of my 15 days :>)
Cooperstown FIRST! After Old Quebec City, Montreal, and St Lawrence stuff ,we were too tired to
do the "Falls" .... A regret!
They do have a great campus. Enjoy but save your money for BC!

we stayed at the Sheraton on campus.

Walked to the game. Very convenient. The staff kept assuming we were Cuse alums. Attached is a picture of the view of the campus from our hotel room and the Carrier Dome in the background. Had Dinosaur BBQ the night before, and there was an Alumni get together at some bar downtown.

Hadn't been up that way before so we made a long weekend out of it. Flew into Toronto on Wed. Toured Toronto and rented a car one-way that could cross the border. Stayed at Niagara Falls (Canada side) Thursday. Checked out Buffalo and arrived Syracuse on Friday. Went apple picking at Beak & Skiff on Sunday before flying back home.

and I can't recommend getting tickets from the Clemson ticket office

Attached is the view from the Away Game tickets we got through Clemson.

So I bought new tickets at a third of the price on StubHub and moved there (also attached)

and sat next to a very nice Syracuse fan and his girl friend.

Syracuse should not be allowed to sell those to Clemson or anyone.

Yep, Could not find a single restaurant that had tea so I

Mar 29, 2015, 10:44 PM

turned around and came straight back to Powdersville. I mean, who in the heck thinks you can eat a meal without tea. Their restaurants were pitiful.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn-Liverpool which was the team hotel. That was the best part about the trip. Our seats from Clemson were not so good.

Best place to tailgate is Skybox Parking lot and take a shuttle (free) over.
It's where a lot of Clemson fans were.
Liverpool Holiday is the best - you are away from the pit of SU.
If you get a chance - Dinosaur BBQ - no frills but it's good.

We went to a place Empire Brewery or something like that - terrible!
They do sell beer inside the game - lots of drunk obnoxious fans that say things like "wait til BBall etc." I was told several times Clemson was going to lose - Sammy and Tajh didn't get that memo!

Yup....

Mar 30, 2015, 8:11 AM

We stayed at a the Hampton Inn Syracuse North. There was a Tully's Sports bar right next door which turned-out to be very convenient.

Flew in to Buffalo on Thursday, then drove over to Canada to visit Niagara Falls.

On Friday, we drove over to Cooperstown to tour the MLB Hall of Fame before hitting Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse on Friday night.

Of course, we took-in the game on Saturday.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I heard it was incredibly hot and loud inside the dome.

Mar 30, 2015, 5:52 PM

Well, that's what Cuse fans say. But they have probably never been to Death Valley in August.
