ex UCLA recruit Roquan Smith no sign LOI when DC coach

(UCLA)is revealed on National Signing Day to have accepted a job with Atlanta Falcons. Will only sign scholarship papers when he reports to school in the summer, not LOI. Might be college recruitment precedent setting.

Thats why athletes should never break the cardinal rule of recruiting and commit to a coach rather than the University....Not to say that he brought this on himself, but he brought this on himself...on the sideline, UCLA should be ashamed and embarrassed about this ordeal, but then again, look at their head coach...

why would you commit to a great university with a terrible coach? That's like taking a job at a great company but you know the guy who is going to be your boss is terrible at his job and will probably be fired soon.

Every recruit and coach we has talked and continues to talk about their personal relationship with a player or players. I may be wrong but don't several coaches talk to each recruit. Obviously we did something right with our 2015 recruits because Chad leaving did not affect those coming in. Perhaps it was honesty about what was happening in our athletic dept

This is being brought on by shady coaching staffs. I have never seen so many coaching changes after signing day. They used to be all done after the season then after the bowl games. Waiting a month to annoouce them is crap and these low class coaches could ruin it all. If more kids keep doing this than coaches would have to recruit seniors till school starts. The NCAA need to make teams show just cause why moves where made after signing day.

Then perhaps the fix would be to put a "clause" in LOI that it would be null and void if coaching changes are made from February to August
