Did we miss a local recruit this cycle?

Feb 7, 2015, 3:57 PM

Don't recall hearing anything about this kid on this site.

Arcega-Whiteside from Dorman. Sounds like he was ours if we wanted him.

No, Clemson had bigger fish on the hook.

... too deep at WR U?

Guess we are exceedingly healthy at WR atm.

We already have a Burnside that we have been recruiting for 3 years. We don't need a Whiteside.

Amir Trapp shut him down

In the Shrine Bowl, if I remember correctly.

No both are on the South Carolina team . Wouldn't say any CB shut anybody down because the QB play was so bad on both sides

We weren't gonna take 4 WRs

and all 3 we had are better. Or at least the staff felt that way. I'd trust the staff.

Bell was a very early commit for this class and Whiteside is nowhere near a Cain or Ray Ray. He just wasn't a take. Hopefully he develops and does well for Stanford.

When neither Clemson nor SCAR offer an in-state kid, it

usually indicates something.

Since he ended up at Stanford, probably (0bviously) not grades, and I don't get the impression that it was character either.

Talent??

Just one of those situations where a good kid from the state isn't quite good enough to rate a serious offer from the in-state schools?

The reigning SC "Mr. Football" is another case in point.
