You know you're a good team when you are a target

Aug 20, 2014, 6:46 PM

I'm seeing all kinds of feasting on the Brooks announcement on social media. Dawgs of course say their defense will now crush our inexperienced offense even more. But Cuse fans are even jumping in the mix.

I'm not worried. Not happy. But not worried.

Spot-on, Norther. We will win without him but I hate it for his sake. Tough luck....

Those claiming Brooks will be a significant hit

to our chances for success this year weren't assessing us accurately in the first place. While pass-blocking for the QB may suffer after Howard and Davidson, we do not lack in talented running backs that can gain yards.

Didn't Brooks himself say that he thought he was the 2nd or 3rd string back.

I believe

he said that he was not ready to shoulder a majority of the snaps as the go-to running back, or something of that sort. Which I agree with. I never saw him as a natural running back to begin with.

Thought after recent practice he said he would be starting

I remember thinking he was making a bold statement given that Howard was still the lead with the coaches.

With Gallman described as violent I think he enjoys blocking

too. And Fleming may not touch a ball that often but I can especially see him being pretty good at brutalizing some D linemen long enough to give Stoudt breathing room.
