silly topic....but I don't care
Am I the only one who wishes Dabo would dress up nicer for games?
I'm tired of hearing about Kmart clothes and I could just chalk it up to "who cares what they think" type of thing but I can't because I care. After all, he is representing Clemson on a National level so I wish Dabo wouldn't dress like he's spending a lazy saturday on the couch for our football games.
And when I say "nice" I'm not talking about a coat and tie. Here are some comparisons to illustrate what I'm talking about it.
A penny for your thoughts/flame?

Al Golden's look worked at Temple. It doesn't work at Miami because it's 90 degrees all year round. If it were 65 and breezy he wouldn't look like a sweaty italian man.

Every coach has their particular style of dress for games, if Dabo likes the sweat shirt I have no issue with it.
Also I'd rather have him dress in something he feels comfortable in during the game so he can focus on the game

the Patriot's head coach who always looks like somebody dressed him in rags.
It used to be that all head coaches wore at least a dress shirt and tie to the game but those days are long gone. But I know what you mean about dressing sharply instead of looking sloppy.

I didn't know you had to to dress like that to have a tough attitude?
There's nothing blue collar about the way Dabo dresses for games. If he came out in Orange overalls I could see you making that claim. Dabo's look says "Band Teacher" more than "Blue Collar". Just being honest.

I wouldn't say that's true. It would still be brought it up on different media outlets regardless. Not just the coots who bring it up. Other fan sites have said things and they don't too much care whether or not he beats the coots.

Also would give us the option to sneak Dabo on the field for a trick play or two.
"And there goes Dabo streaking down the sideline...AND IT'S A TOUCHDOWN!!! Man, Jim, the DB's had no idea what was going on during that play. Safety got completely beat over the top. Dabo's still got it ladies and gents"

Although I agree, I do think all of Clemson's coaches physical appearance can either help or hurt recruiting.
The real question is who will make the decision of what he should wear?
Is this an issue for the Clemson BOT?
Regalia/no regalia…
Solid orange ?
should he mix in some white.
Probably some fans of black out there
stripes and/or paws
Probably some Indigo blue fans as well...

Never was too particular about the pretty boy thing. If a man spends more time getting ready than his wife it say's something about his manhood. I'm glad Clemson has a coach who's ego is not bigger than the job at hand.

Would Like To See A Lot More ----

College basketball coaches wear polo golf shirts and beige pants or slacks and soft bottom shoes. That way it will be more entertaining to watch them jump around and get excited about great plays made. I know for sure they would be way more comfortable too.

At least Dabo is not at the Bo Pelini wardrobe level
Dec 11, 2013, 10:58 AM
|
|
I would say Pelini is the worst dressed in CFB. I think Dabo's dress could improve if he truly did trademark his name for a line of clothes that are to come out. I doubt any company paying him to wear signature clothes are going to let him look sloppy, and there are really no ways to dress up a sweatshirt.
As far as the clothing line, expect Dabo to be wearing a ball cap more often with his sig on it. If a company is paying him for a clothing line they're gonna require he wears it.

Really hard for me to comprehend how anyone could say a coach wearing a sweatshirt is unacceptable. Boogles the mind really. A 80 dollar sweat and 100 dollar pants can't please you huh. He is a freaking coach for gods sake.

I'm constantly back and fourth with a good friend of mine who unfortunately went to NC State...but we constantly joke about Dabo's attire. Its so bad. He looks exactly the way I used to dress myself in 6th grade (circa 1990). Just missing the extra long braided belt to let hang down.
I think he should come out in a early 90's Oakley "Thermonuclear Wear" jacket or Hypercolor shirt.
You know your coach's attire deserves scrutiny when he could fill in for an episode of Saved by the Bell.
