Former Clemson Coach.....Coach Bass Field!

If anyone in the area wants to see some football tonite:

The football field at seneca will be named after former head coach (and current Defensive coach) and former clemson coach Tom Bass tonite before the game.

Come out if you have a chance.

Game starts at 7:30


Coach Tom Bass
• Coach Bass coached the Seneca High School Bobcat Football team for 20 years.
• Coach Bass won 209 Games during his career against only 69 losses.
• His teams held the opponent scoreless 96 times.
• The Bobcats made 5 final 4 appearances while being led by Coach Bass.
• Led team to the State Championship game in 1996.
• The 1983 edition on the Bobcats pitched 10 shutouts and only gave up 29 points for the entire season.
• Coach Bass earned National Coach of the Year honors in 1983
• Upstate Area Coach of the Year 3 times.
• South Carolina Coach of the Year 3 different times.
• Coach Bass also received Region Coach of the Year 8 times.
• Coach was selected as the Head Coach of the 1996 Shrine Bowl team.
• Served as the Head Coach of the North squad in the annual North-South Game in 1991.
• In 1999 Coach Bass was the recipient of the Distinguished Coach Award from the SCAFA (South Carolina Football Coaches Association).

I think his winning precentage when he was coaching high school ball in Tenn. might ever be better than at Seneca. I wouldn't bet the ranch on this but I know it was very good.

Should we bring out the record book for that one too? no? that's what I thought. Congrats to coach Bass. Not too many head high school coaches like him around anymore.
