Regarding the comment below, it must be noted that this 9 win season can NOT compare to these others since we have played up to 2 more games. 9-5 is not even close to 9-3. The coaches love to use whatever stats advantage they are getting out of this 12th (and 13th if you count ACC championship game) games. Tommy Bowden was bad about this, saying "we can have a 10 win season..." but hey, you are playing an extra game now.

Tigers are much improved this year, but let us be honest at least.

"Clemson finished the year with nine wins, the first time Clemson has done that since 2007 and just the fourth time in the 2000s, Clemson has done it. Clemson was 9-3 in 2000 and 9-4 in 2003. "

I was thinking the same thing. The extra game (ACCCG) did

Dec 29, 2009, 12:19 PM

not help us get 9 wins.

But the total # of games do count, since they gave us a chance to win some additional games. Anyway, winning percentage is what counts. Tommy Bowden used to be very bad at using these extra games to his statistical benefit.

If Spiller would have played more in the games he didn't

Dec 29, 2009, 12:12 PM

he would be the all-time college football leader in all purpose yards.

But that's really a stat no one cares about so its not a big deal
