football is subpar and most teams dont travel well. Clemson travels well and FSU does but thats it, the rest have bad reputations in this department. When the ACC starts playing better football and gets more powerful teams, then the better bowls will line up and beg for ACC teams.

the Gator Bowl didn't drop the ACC b/c of the ACC's quality of teams. The Gator bowl doesn't give a rip about the overall quality, they only care about their pick- as every bowl does. We lost the Gator bowl b/c we tried to restrict who they could and could not choose with their picks. If we let them just take their priority and not force the win differential rule on them, we'd still have them.
Swofford is a dolt.

travel to see their team. Swofford and the ACC want to dictate who goes. In principal they have a point, but they can't force these fans to go. After the BCS these bowls have an obligation to their community. They should not be forced to accept teams that don't support their program. I feel sorry for the players, but they signed with their school for their own reason and need to accept that consequence when bowl berths are awarded.

So we lose the New Years Day Bowl and get two bowls in awful deatinations. Thank goodness for Miami and Atlanta Bowls. Champs does not even sell the upper deck since the Champs Bowl plays second fiddle to the Citrus. Swofford continues to be a failure.

I can't believe he let the Gator Bowl get away and now our third bowl is Capital One followed by the Sun Bowl. Ridiculous!
Our only shot after the Orange is the Peach or its better to have a bad year from a bowl perspective.
Our travel options are:
-BCS(Orange) or NC Game (dream on!)
-Atlanta
-Orlando
-El Paso
-Charlotte
-Nashville
-Shreveport
-D.C.

Army and Navy don't get automatic bids but if that have 6 FBS wins then that's where they go. If they don't have 6 wins then the EagleBank Bowl gets someone from Conference USA (2012) or the Big 12 (2011).

Swofford was probably put in a tough spot, kiss the Peach Bowl's #### or the Gator Bowl's. I think he choose right if that was what he had to do.
If I was the Gator Bowl I wouldn't want 3rd place in the ACC if I could go get something better from another conference. Unless Va. Tech or Clemson is going it wouldn't be a sell out so I would take my chances with another conference if I was them too.

I'm surprised the ACC office didn't try to start up a new bowl with the MEAC or Big South Conferences in Tabor City NC, although it would probably be better attended than El Paso or Shreveport.
