Always nice to see an effective adjustment after the break

Sometimes they're suttle, and sometimes they're more obvious than an elephant in the rear view mirror. But few things make a fan believe more than watching his team make those crucial adjustments in the second half.

Way to go guys.

Great win but a few problems exposed...

great win by Tigers - I think even more impressive than the UMD comeback last year when we came back from down 20. Even after VT recovered to take the lead back Tigers hung in tough and made shot after shot after shot! Wow.

I think Purnell needs to change/abondon the press. The way we press, so low near baseline and the man beats it w/ a dribble it is really 5 on 3! And teams just attack knowing either a dunk or a follow up or a foul are sure bet. It took too too long for Purnell to pull put of the press. Even the 1/2 court trap does not work, leads to many back door cuts - but our straight up defense if pretty decent, so not sure why we have to have this. Press cost us some of the big games last year.

Finally, give credit to the players, esp. Rivers, for some great shot making. But at times we lack hustle. There was one play in particular when we turned over the ball, there was a bit of scramble, and all 4 of our other guys just stayed back on offense, no running down. I know people can get winded, but he rotates a lot and there needs to be all out hustle on all plays.

Great win, but by constant refinement we can move higher. If we beat Duke, and I think we can, I will be in Tiger heaven.
