Here's my choice for a new venue...

Aug 14, 2008, 6:13 PM [ in reply to That Boston group can apologize by securing Fluor Field**** ]

I think this would be an ideal location for a number of reasons;

http://www.myrtlebeachpelicans.com/bbt/seatmap/

It's close to centrally located, there's tons to do, there's lots of hotel rooms and it's easily accessible.

Just to really tick off Mike Martin

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Stupid question...when did it become Flour Field?

Aug 15, 2008, 9:00 AM [ in reply to That Boston group can apologize by securing Fluor Field**** ]

I thought it was something like West End Park? Granted I've never been to a game there and when I snuck a look at it was over Christmas last year so I could just have all that downtown construction confused.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think Fluor bought naming rights just before this season.****

The conference STILL sucks for doing that and, btw,

to do it.

Swofford on the phone with Memphis and Toledo

Aug 14, 2008, 4:58 PM

seeking to secure one of their AAA ballparks to host the tournament. After all, we don't want to put this tournament close to any of the schools, unless it is in Durham.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

beat me to the punch

Aug 14, 2008, 5:38 PM

...of course Swofford will do something that only benefits the North Carolina schools. He's probably drooling over UNC's new baseball stadium

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What a joke...........

Aug 14, 2008, 6:08 PM

Totally absurd move to schedule it there in the first place but to get shafted like this is absurd. Why give it to them in 2010?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Move it to little Fenway in Greenville. People will

Aug 14, 2008, 6:13 PM

actually show up there!

The Southern Conference tournament is at Fluor Field the same week of the ACC.

On behalf of every Clemson Grad in New England

Aug 15, 2008, 4:15 AM

...I'm Sorry.

I'm sorry that Swofford decided to bow down the the BC grads. I'm sorry that TDP agreed to come up to Boston.

There isn't any Boston resident or BC grad that gives and good "GoshDarn" about ACC Football, ACC Basketball or ACC Baseball.

Fsck'Boston and feed'em fish heads.
When the ACC comes to town they wonder if Havadah playing So screw their invite to a tea party.

Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.

I think it's all about playing in Fenway is all they care

Aug 16, 2008, 12:33 PM [ in reply to On behalf of every Clemson Grad in New England ]

why don't you speak for yourself. As a Clemson Grad and life long resident of Boston, I disagree with everything you said. Hey s--t happens. Fenway is one of the best ballparks in the world and everyone should be excited they are hosting the ACC Championship.

Yes, not everyone is die hard college fans in Boston but that is only because of the great pro sports that are in the city. They love BC, but it is tough because Boston is a pro sports town and always will be. You don't deserve to represent every Clemson grad in New England

Trust me when I say that it wouldn't be hard to tell the difference between a Harvard fan and a Clemson fan.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Translation: Someone paid Fenway more for that weekend

Aug 15, 2008, 8:55 AM

How do you have a "scheduling conflict" when something has been planned for at least 3 years and you are still a year away? This isn't like some assistant put the wrong date in the boss' outlook calendar.

What a joke.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bring it to Knights Stadium

Aug 15, 2008, 12:00 PM

That way I can work it and then watch it!
