That's right

But you can retire the number of every player/person who embodies greatness. That's Hammonds' legacy, and he's the most deserving player that I've personally witnessed.

Chuck Norris frequently signs up for beginner karate classes, just so he can "accidentally" beat the s*it out of little kids.

Hammonds didn't just do something great

He did many things great.

If you retire he jersey you are retiring mediocrity....

He averaged a little over 10 points per game in his career and we went to the NCAA 1 time in his career. You retire someones jersey for being great on the court, not off of it.

The guy who starts his thought by saying "If you retire he jersey"?

If you think Cliff Hammonds is mediocre, you're a ####### idiot.

scoring average doesn't really say it all... father, son, husband, academic star, and STAR on the court! No one else in the past decade and certainly for years to come will embody Clemson like Cliff. And if you want to just look at basketball stats... he set 3 Clemson records that show toughness and dedication, as well as being one of the main reasons (Hammonds, Mays, Perry) that our basketball program is no longer in the ##### era and is recruiting national talent. He might not be on tv next season but he is the reason Clemson will be. Give him his due.
