Couple of questions....

Nov 7, 2007, 9:10 PM

1. Why are students camping out for tickets? Aren't they still guaranteed tickets to all home games? Or are these extra tickets for friends and family and such?

2. Also don't they have to go to class?

I probably already know the answers to these questions come to think of it.

Tickets are not guaranteed to students

The people camping out right now are waiting to get tickets in the IPTAY Collegiate Club block which distributes tickets on Thursdays. There are, I think, only 2300 tickets in this block. The remaining tickets are distributed by classes until they run out...I would estimate there to be about 9000+ tickets remaining after IPTAY Collegiate Club (that's a rough estimate, don't quote me!).

Also, they do have to go to class. Most students work out a schedule of when people have classes so as to ensure that there is always someone at the tent keeping a place in line. At night, when there's no class, most everyone is out there.

technically, 11,000 tickets are reserved for students. IPTAY collegiate club gets first crack. Used to be 1000, but i think i heard somewhere that they bumped it this year to 2000. This is pretty much the only way that freshman will get tickets to that game if they aren't in block seatin for frats, sororities, or club sports. In my 4 years at clemson, the only time there was EVER a problem for students to get tickets was at the GT GameDay game last year. Students raised hell about it.

Actually IPTAY is giving out 2300 for the allotment of IPTAY members for the BC game...a little more than the 2000.
