Jul 27, 2007, 1:00 PM

it is a ncaa violation to eat the free breakfast at the hotel that you are staying at?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not quite

Jul 27, 2007, 1:02 PM

They had a free breakfast *AND* received per diem for the meal.

Its a dang common occurrence in the business world. Just be glad the NCAA doesn't snoop around your travel expenses ;)

We're probably the first school in history to report this.***

Yep

Jul 27, 2007, 1:19 PM

Imagine walking into your bosses office and saying "Remember that business trip to New Jersey I took a few months ago? Well, its been weighing on my conscience since I took it. Well, the Marriot had bagels out, and I ate one. I also accepted the 2.75 you gave me for breakfast that morning... I'm scum I know it"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

only if you eat something already prepared...

Jul 27, 2007, 1:03 PM [ in reply to did i read this right? ]

if you were to make your own waffle it would be fine, but dont dare eat a box of frosted flakes, you will be out of college sports forever! and on the waffle make sure its real maple syrup, thats ok, but plain processed syrup could cost you a few scholarships!

The major irony here is how minor some of these rules

Jul 27, 2007, 1:13 PM

infractions are, yet, the NCAA can barely keep up with addressing Reggie Bush level violations.

Why have so many small, petty rules when you can't provide real-time enforcement the big ones?

Maybe they need to throw out this small crap, and spend some time on SEC campuses and attending booster meetings.

Jul 27, 2007, 1:46 PM

Assuming this was a football recruit, anyone care to make an educated guess as to who the recruit was?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why does the ncaa need to know attendance records ?***

Jul 27, 2007, 2:24 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

there are minimum attendance levels to stay I-A

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Plus, they want to know how much money you owe them.***
