... 5 wins in the ACC -- 6 if we're REAL lucky. We (or anyone) should never ever ever count our chickens based on how well we do before conference play begins. If we do, WE'LL be the ones whose shells get broken. Realism. It's a good thing. This is the best Bball conference in the nation and we're blessed to be in it. Consequently, beating others is no big deal. The real proof is in the conference pudding. And right now, our tigers are still eating at the childrens table. But we're getting there.

While I agree that it is, be careful how you say that. Year in and year out the ACC is the best conference in basketball. The same can be said for the SEC in football. This however is not the main reason we don't do better in basketball and the Gamecocks don't do better in football.
