for any that wonder, 6.7 equates to a 4.08 40 time...***

So Ford ran faster than a 4.0 40?

Feb 10, 2007, 12:39 AM

If a 6.7 time is a 4.08 40 time, and Ford got a 6.60 does that mean he ran a sub-4 40? That doesn't sound right. I'm not good at math so I could totally be wrong. If that's true though, thats just plain sick.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

sry, i thought he ran a 6.7, 6.6 comes our to 4.02...***

keep trying....your math is still wrong.***

I got 4.029 so if that is what you got I think you are right.

thank you, numbers speak louder than "you're wrong"***

I come up with 4.02.

60m = 65.616798 yds

6.60/65.616798 = 0.1005839 seconds per yard

0.1005839(40)= 4.02

But not a math major.

You can't make that type of comparison. If you extrapolate that time into a mile run, he'd have a faster time than a cheetah.

True because of the start but the amount that the 40 time needs to be assumed to be larger by is not that great.

Like K87 said you can't compare the two. Ford/Spiller are sprinters, not milers (1500m). Their 60m times would approximate a 2:45 mile and that's not happening by anyone. You don't need to run a mile on the football field-it's safe to say if they get a step noone's gonna catch them. Great job representing the Tigers in the colegiate capital of the USA.

I'm thinking Ford should race a cheetah. I would pay to see that.

This post is retarded. Getting a 40 time from a 60 is way more feasible than getting a mile time. Its going to be close. In the future when you get ideas for posts...resist.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Here's what I got for the 40 time from the 60

Feb 10, 2007, 3:55 PM

I could have done this wrong, but here it is.

60m in 6.60 seconds...6.6 seconds/60m = .11

It takes Jacoby an average of .11 seconds to run a meter

.11 seconds x 40 meters = 4.4 seconds for a 40.

so either someone was way off or I'm way off

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

i believe a '40' is a forty yard dash, not meter***
