average donor figure. that tells me our minimum donor level to purchase tix needs to go up. those giving more get little for their $ now.

I think that is the reason they had to do this. It is a way to finally get everyone's donation level up. I think it is a great idea.

i'm no math major, but the average donor level would go up by that amount right? my point is that when my parking space and seats are no better than someone who's giving at the minimum level, why am i giving more? that's the issue that i think many have discussed on here before about priority points being worthless. anyway, gotta go...

I understand your feelings. I agree that is the problem. However, this is why we get into the argument over priority points. Do we want to drive off long time donors? I don't think our alumni base is large enough to do that.
That is why I think this is a good idea, we get some more out of everyone for a much needed project, and it is not such a large jump we won't lose many donors.
I also think the enthusiasm about this coming year will make it easy to swallow.

which would make it even harder. I am not talking about running off alumni. I heard one time we don't have enough alumni living to fill our stadium. Even if we do, we won't have 100% participation.

I'd like to see the ticket prices vary--prime seats

b/t the 30s go for ~$60/game goal line to 30 ~$50/game upper deck ~$25 - $40 depending upon the row or section end zone ~ $45
or something like this.
i've never understood charging the same ticket price to sit on the last row of the upper deck or 50-yd line.
if you want prime seats, you'll have to pay for them---provided you have sufficient priority points.

Here is how I think it should be handled.
Sections of the stadium should be assigned a minimum donation level For Example a donation level of $1400 or higher should be required for seats between the 40's. (its my understanding that currently 50% of these tickets are held by minimum level donors) If more seats are needed then stretch it between the 35's. From 10-35 could require a $750 donation. Longtime donors who currently hold these seats should be given first priority for these seats and should have the right to increase their donation level to the required amiunt and thus keep their seats. If they choose not to, then they will be moved to the appropriate section and awarded seats there based on their priority points. Those with higher priority levels would be given better seats in those sections. IMO this is a fair system with everyone having the opportunity to kepe their seats. If you choose not to increase your giving then you have no one to blame but yourself. Now I will await responses as to why this isn't a good idea.

You're on target with this - probably less than 50%. And while loyalty is valuable, you can't fund scholarships (or build recruitment facilities) with loyalty at $130 per year. It has to happen. But you are right about first rights. Meanwhile, what about the 25% of us giving more than $700 per year? We've been sitting even with the back of the East End Zone now for 5 years. Can you imagine being a Heisman donor who still doesn't have seats on the -50-? I think between the 40's may end up costing more than $1400, maybe even $2800 - or you may have a greater breakdown between sections. But our compadre in the Upper Deck giving $1400 has, I would guess, one more season before he moves to the -30- or better. By the way, the Add-On for tickets will occur next year as well.

I think to build a top program you have to reward the people who are giving the most in some kind of way. I am a younger guy graduated in 2001 and we along with a buddy donate over $2,800 a year.......guess where are seats are? In the upper deck about the 30 yard line. To be honest why should we continue to donate at this level for that kind of seating? It just doesn't make sense. I can give $200 a dollars a year and sit in the same seats, and wait until I am 40 to have enough points to maybe get into the lower bowl with decent tickets. Something I hope is being considered for this, because next year our donation will be reduced sharply if nothing changes.

more logical seat based on their giving level. This is a capitalist society after all. They still get to come to the games.
I definately think that loyalty should be rewarded but loyalty at $140 doesn't build the WestZone. Maybe something like this: If you donate at the $350 level then you are eligible to keep your seats based on your priority points. However, if you donate at the minimum level you just have the opportunity to get seats at all (you would be able to use your priority points vs others in that giving level). These seats would most likely be in the upper deck.

Mar 15, 2006, 5:22 PM

in the past, season ticket holders got a discount from the face value of the tix if they ordered them as season tickets... this $24 is this discount... so a season ticket costs the same as if you'd add up all of the individual games together.... $299.

kick all the long-time donors out, but I've been giving $1000 / $1400 for 4 years, plus less for several years before that, and not only am I NOT inside the 20, I'm stuck in the upper deck.
Am I giving too much to get good seats? According to this chart I am. I'd be glad to give less -- I dont have any extra money.
Now, I wont do it -- but where's the incentive to contribute more outside of "doing it for the program"? There is none.

they come up with the $204 donation? By my math that is 1400 per seat plus 300 for tickets, so I'm at 242 per game. I should be able to get a preety good seat but I don't.

Exceptional value
Why are club level seats at Carolina $25 and a upper deck seat in Death Valley $42. If Clemson wonders why people are buying tickets from other schools and not thru IPTAY and not buying thru IPTAY for bowl season they need to look no furthur than the ticket price itself let alone the policy of parking. Bill D may say its a family outing but it's geeting to be just like Disney for lawyers and Doctors kids only. A family outing for 4 for the season with IPTAY donation parking, gas and hotels is now about $4000 and I did not buy my tailgate food and beverage yet.

The season ticket price for Carolina was $210, not $250, and the average donor for iptay of $204 is very suspicious, how could that be accurate.

Nothing wrong with the math

The costs are averaged per seat, not per donor. So if you give at the tiger Scholarship level ($1400) and purchase all 8 tickets you're allowed, your average contribution, per seat, is $175. Which is below the $204, per seat, average. You don't rise above the average, per seat, until you get to the $2800 level.

I am still a student... I pay above my collegiate club dues so I can get a head start on my fellow graduates.... and I say godbless the older people for giving us this program in the state its in.... give them what their due... dedication is the name of the game... wait your turn and pay your dues (not just monitarily) Thanks for the upper deck, I have enjoyed it. I would be honored to have my name beside yours and my fathers on the breezeway...

The donation of $24 to the west Endzone is not the real issue here. It is the Face value of the Tickets. I support a contribution to the West Endzone. It's One Clemson and Solid Orange and Clemson ride all in one. I however fail to understand how the Face Value on a USC ticket is $25 and Clemson is $42.
