Ben will be one of the steals of the draft. You can't manufacture what he will bring to a team.

if there is a LB who has made more big plays than BB...

...over the last three years in college football, I have yet to see him.

Yes, yes. "Limited athleticism". "Small tackle radius". "Liability in coverage". All that. Again, though - pop in the tape. He's a pure MLB in the NFL, granted, but it's hard to imagine that whatever NFL team he lands on, he won't be one of the best 11 defenders on the team.

The guy just makes plays. I know NFL scouts are in love with their measureables and all that, but speaking personally, once I got past those guy who looked great on both film and the tape measure - and there's usually 40 or 45 of those in any given draft, max - I'd personally start drafting guys who have shown they can play rather than winding up with a bunch of dudes who look like Tarzan but play more like Jane.

Ben Boulware does not play like Jane. His highlight reel is ten minutes long and it's shocking the number of games this dude turned for us. He may not be Luke Keuchly, but he's at least another Zach Thomas.

Why is Ben a pure MLB in the NFL but played Will here?

Is this due to Venables scheme? Or did it have more to do with getting the best 11 on the field? Is Kendall Joseph also an NFL MLB in your opinion? I still feel that both lack the ideal size to fight off blocks from NFL guards reaching the second level. I think that Ben's best work in the NFL will be at the Will position where he can continue to be an attacking linebacker
