The early signing period is great.
You sign the kid you want and can focus on others..
This will help end some of the doubt with many kids - and allow them to be committed without the 2 more months of pressure.

Its great for us. You can bet that the SEC schools won't like this rule change because it won't let change committed recruits minds in January.

The SEC schools that pull offers at the last minute (coots, anyone?) and leave kids hanging or chasing grey-shirts will scream about this. Commitment is a two way street that they don't like.

They do seem to have the most guilt here, and it seems like they have no feelings about cutting kids loose or withdrawing an offer at the last minute.

I wonder if this will cause a rift in some classes if you have like 18 commits and 16 sign in December, but the other 2 aren't ready to sign yet. I know most guys who are committed for months will sign early to guarantee their spot if that's what they want, but you never know.

If a kid hasn't signed yet, then he is just back where he would have been prior to this rule change. I like it because I think it eliminates a lot of the pressure that lasts for so long a time when the kids have been hounded by schools and fans. We will see how it works, if they actually do it.

I was thinking the same thing. In your example, does it say the 2 that don't sign early are on the fence or are still looking? I think many fans will wonder about the two!

I love it. Our recruiting tactics set up perfectly for the early signing period. The teams most hurt by this new rule is the SEC teams. They love to come in late and change recruits minds.
