We need to look at Dabo's salary

I just read where Brett Bielema(sp?) is now getting paid over 4 million/yr at Arkansas! Dabo is worth more than him, Dabo needs a raise next year!

Dabo can name his price here, what other schools offer will

never top what clemson will pay him. But dabo has chosen his salary multiple times, he takes less to be able to spend it on assistants and anything else the football team needs. Money isn't dabos first priority by any means, there's not another coach like him in the country. We're extremely lucky to have such a great coach and person associated with our program.

I agree, but regardless I don't see dabo leaving the program anytime soon. I don't think Dabo is the kind if guy that is going to let money draw him away from something he loves, and he certainly loves it here at Clemson (who wouldn't!). I think he is really focused on being a long term coach here, and I think that is showing in our recruiting. If you were a high rated recruit, would you rather play for dabo and a system you know will be there your entire career, or a place like Florida where who knows what's going to happen next. So I say give him a raise, regardless of winning a national title or not I'm proud to have dabo as our coach and love the way the program is currently, honest and all about family.

I agree with you. I keep thinking to myself that b/c Dabo loves his job so much, he is getting cheap scaped by the administration. It could be Dabo's doing b/c he wants to be sure that his assistants get paid well but, when a coach has their program performing at a high level as well as Dabo has ours, he shouldn't have to take less to be sure that his assistants are paid fairly. Winning at a high level in college FB these days just isn't cheap.

I'll write Dabo a check if he needs rent money. But Dabo makes $841,800 less than Slurrier. THAT'S what we need to fix.

That looks screwed up with Dabo's pay scale at 21st in the country. Dabo has built his program from the ground up and has accomplish a lot as a first time HC.

and the money is his. He takes pay cuts so his high level assistants get paid enough to stick around a little longer. I don't see him leaving any time soon. I think he would wait until he won a NC before considering leaving. Bama, the NFL, and retirement are the only places I could see him considering leaving for. And he would get fired at Bama for not allowing the boosters to pay kids and for suspending players.
I would put odds on Dabo being in Clemson for the rest of his career, which is a long time. Especially if he keeps making these homerun hires, his best talent!

Call me crazy, but it almost seems like Dabo would rather sacrifice his pay to make CU a powerhouse

$62 mil new football building (rumored to be the nicest in the country), high paid assistants.
Almost seems like he's sacrificing himself do the greatest good (like Jesus).
Probably makes your skin crawl if you're a Gamecock, knowing that your legendary coach is getting paid $1 mil more than Dabo per year, while Clemson out-spends the coots in recruiting by the same amount
Watching Dabo and Clemson run circles around your superior SEC program is tough to swallow, I'm sure. And that just the way Dabo wants it. He can name his price any day of the week and have it, but he enjoys it more this way. He's a scrapper. Already made it from rags to riches.
Silly Coots always gon try to find a way to troll tho..

This coot compared Dabo to Jesus then he goes over to the coot site and starts a thread pointing this out. Those idiots pile on believing onedercoot to actually be a Clemson fan instead of the coot troll he is.

Two things. First, you're off on your math regarding recruiting expenses. Usc-e spent about half what Clemson spent recruiting the last five years, and we spent about a half a mill a year. The difference in assistant salaries, however, may make up the $900k difference between Dabo's and Spurrier's salaries. Second, comparing Dabo's taking a lower salary to Christ's sacrifices is more than a little over the top. A father might bring a bag lunch to work to afford to buy his children the things they need. That's a sacrifice, but it's not in the same league as what Christ did for us. In fact, you can make a pretty good argument that Dabo's decision to move more money to his assistants is in his best interest because it gives him an edge in hiring and retaining top coaching talent.

over to FGF to say Clemson fans are ridiculous because "we believe Dabo is Jesus". I would think onedercoot is 12 years old, but deep down I sadly know it is a grown gamecock doing this.

Almost seems like he's sacrificing himself do the > greater good (like Jesus).
Originally wanted to say "like a super-hero"
Batman, Superman, etc.. are all characters based on putting their lives on the line (sacrificing themselves) to fight against bad guys to improve the overall lives and well-being of the good people in the community.
A lesser form of what Jesus did, as He taught us how to walk with, please God and be saved from evil. Every day He did this He was putting His life in jeopardy by opposing that which the harsh Roman empire had already.
We are taught to be living examples of Christ's love, therefore, behaving in a way that was similar to Jesus, is the goal of all Christians.
That's where the comparison was derived.
Never said Dabo is Jesus.
Never said Dabo is Clemson's savior.
Just that his actions reflect that of a humble, loving, servant. Which is what God teaches us to be.
However, you people are probably right in that a football message board may not be the best place for talks of God.

BUYOUT IF SWINNEY LEAVES 2014: $5 million 2015: $5 million 2016: $5 million 2017: $3 million 2018: $2.5 million 2019: $1 million 2020: $500,000
I am not disagreeing with you by any means, but it's not far enough off for me. I wish we had Dabo locked up for 15 more years. We basically have him locked up until 2018. On the other hand, I don't think Bama would blink to pay out a 2.5 million dollar buyout if they wanted Dabo and Saban retired. There are so many factors though. Dabo loves Clemson. Also, how old are is children? I would think me may not want to move them around. Seems like the program couldn't be on a better track and hopefully we have Dabo for another 20 years.
