Perhaps you can answer my burning question - Cole was identified last Spring as the starting quarterback so 'theoretically' our high priced offensive coordinator had 6 months to put together an offense based on Cole's abilities but now every time Cole comes in, they act like its the first time that they have seen what he can do. Were they designing a an offense for Watson all along (BUT still starting Cole in the GA & Fl State games)! There should be a huge play book ready for any time Cole steps onto the field. This makes no sense to me...

Further, I haven't spotted any (material) half-time adjustments for the last several years. Chad doesn't seem to be the offensive wizard that we were lead to believe ...

and yet he is still ,at worst, the 2nd best OC we've ever

I agree I don't see any adjustments either.

Without Watson, we are a Tommy West team. The D is good

the offense has talent, but no QB

Historically we have had average offensive lines. The offensive line was not great during the Tommy West years. So 6 or 7 (with a tight end in a 3-point stance) of the 11 players were average or below. Injuries have hurt this year (offensive line and quarterback), but you got to plan and recruit around that (cough, cough JUCO).

The new recruits might get playing time next year, but freshmen against juniors and seniors in the offensive line is a loser...we could be worse next year, and the defensive will not be as spectacular. Our offense is worse than Tommy West's, it goes all the way back to Red Parker and his stellar 1975 and 1976 seasons, and remember Hatfield screwed up left field so bad, we had to use I think it was McLeon or somebody in a flex bone because we got to the point we could not do anything, which is where we are now. I have to agree with another poster, the game plans for Stoudt at the first of the year were so bad that he throws as many interceptions as he does completions? A sad indictment on Morris and also on Caldwell
