There's something in these hills.

I love that our paw is so recognizable.

I'm at Penn State now and it made me realize how awesome the Tiger Paw. Penn State doesn't realize what they have in their Lion logo. They insist on selling 4-toed and 5-toed paws, full bodied lions and everything else.

agree

I am from PA and got my master's from Penn State and I agree 100%. The fact that the lion head is not at midfield at Beaver Stadium drives me crazy. The lion head is one of the coolest logos in sports and is severely underused. I would love it on the helmets too but that will never happen! I am proud of the tiger paw which is used everywhere. Clemson does it right.

Should Penn St have made the list?

Aug 14, 2014, 9:02 AM [ in reply to I love that our paw is so recognizable. ]

It's not on their uniforms. I think Mizzou has a pretty cool logo but they didn't make the list. Mizzou had ought to embrace their unique logo and quit pumping out decals, etc. with the Clemson logo.

Honestly, No One Can Eff With The Paw----

I just don't like to see the
high school teams try to use
it or other off the map college
teams use it. It kind of presents
a threat to try to water down
something so powerful.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then The Paw

Aug 14, 2014, 8:23 AM

is obviously the BEST logo in the country.

What other logo has been directly or indirectly copied by so many high schools and other colleges as our Paw since its inception back in 1970 ?

Nothing else comes close!!

... although it's pretty obvious that Georgia and Greenbay Packers certainly appear to have something in common.

Yes, I was at Clemson in 1970, and Hootie Ingram didn't do much, but I believe I recall that the paw was his idea.

Although Hootie was the head coach at the time, I don't recall The Paw being his idea. It was conceived by Henderson ad agency over in Greeville. I'm sure Hootie and AD Frank Howard had to give it their blessing.
