I don't think we'll be able to play in the Belk Bowl and the CFB Playoff at the same time so I call BS

Even if he thinks we lose to FSU and another ACC team, thus not having 2nd best record in conference. Then orange bowl should still have an ACC team in it w FSU in playoff.

What a stupid prediction.

You may be right, but I thought b/c of the playoff, there is

no longer a conference tie in to bowls, but based strictly on ranking...is this right or will it remain the same?

Well, not really, they are perennial attenders there.

Consider me corrected when I questioned when he had made an accurate projection. It seems he has made one.

The Orange Bowl is contracted to select an ACC team when

[5]
Posted: Jul 8, 2014 2:14 PM

the orange bowl is not included in the playoffs:

"If the ACC champion is not selected for the four-team College Football Playoff, that team will play in the Orange Bowl (Miami, FL) against Notre Dame or a team from the SEC or Big 10. In the event that the ACC champion is selected to the four-team College Football Playoff, the Orange Bowl will select the ACC runner-up. In years when the Orange Bowl is hosting one of the College Football Playoff semifinal games (e.g. 2016), the ACC champion will play in a host bowl -- either the Fiesta Bowl or the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

The selection of the ACC's opponent will be based on securing the highest-ranked team in the final standings available from either the Big Ten, the SEC or Notre Dame. The Big Ten and SEC are each guaranteed at least three appearances over the 12-year life of the deal. Notre Dame has no minimum guarantee and may only appear in the game a maximum of two times."

Woah, missed reading that, thanks. I'm a little shocked

[1]
Posted: Jul 8, 2014 2:16 PM

at that though, there must be a stipulation that the runner up is a top 20 or something team, right?

one would think that, but I haven't read anything that says so

Isn't the OB contracted to take an ACC team?***

Posted: Jul 8, 2014 1:51 PM

There is some kind of tie in with the ACC and OB

Posted: Jul 8, 2014 2:05 PM

Looks like Steele is saying all the ACC teams will suck #### except for FSU.

He seems to think that every year.

I don't think he's ever been a Clemson fan, honestly.

Posted: Jul 8, 2014 2:13 PM

Not likely, but if so ...

[7]
Posted: Jul 8, 2014 2:16 PM

...we'd get to end another big-name coach's career with a loss.

Why did he even bother listing the Sugar Bowl?

Posted: Jul 8, 2014 2:23 PM

There's no SEC team in it... I'm confused

I would love for us to have a shot at playing Florida. But Steele can cram the Belk Bowl up his projected silk panty wearing A$S!!!

BELK only is for those little no class schools in the state where BELK toilet bowl is.

He brought the Peach Bowl back to life? I also

thought the Chick-Fil-A Bowl was contracted to the ACC as well.

It's part of the playoff now and changed name back to Peach***

Pretty good matchup...

Could see it happening if Clemson loses to FSU and UGa. Steele must see us losing to either UNC or UofL, also.

Belk Bowl in rebuilding year not bad. I assume he thinks we go 0-3 against anyone with a pulse (UGA/FSU/SC).

I think we beat one of the 3, with UGA being most likely, then the chickens.

I'd take it too ... right now our fan base will ...

... give Dabo more credit for a Belk Bowl appearance after a win over SCAR than they will another Orange Bowl win after a 6th straight loss to SCAR.

Like it or not, beating SCAR this year is a huge priority.
