Gruden likes what he sees in Tajh Boyd

Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden held a conference call with the media Tuesday afternoon, and he broke down the prospects of former Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd. Full Story »

this flies in the face of the comments I have seen in here that boyd does not play well under pressure. The only knock on him is that he is 6'-3/4".

The guy is a winner in my book. Give him a good line to play behind and he will be fine in a couple of years.

Give Tajh a good Oline to play behind, and he will eat defenses alive. If Tajh would have been with the type of Oline that FSU had, Clemson would have won a NC also. He was only 1 of 11 players on offense, and he got the job done when he had just decent protection....

their Defense did not hurt either, but I see the pieces falling in place behind Venables at Clemson as well.

Agree though, that FSU Oline practically handed Winston that Heisman. One of the best I have seen in while.

He had the same OL against Georgia and in the Orange Bowl. At some point we have to recognize Morris put tons of pressure on Tajh to be 100% of the offense and sometimes it backfired.

And misdirection and trick plays only get you so far against good teams that are equally fast and athletic. Morris tried to be too cute, like he wanted to have the offensive genius label put on him after every play call

agree somewhat, but OSU's D sucked last year, and UGA was not that much better. All the dawgs could do against us was fake injuries and they hit hard. Scheme wise they were terrible against us. Jeremey Pruitt was Morris' worst nightmare the last 2 years at FSU.

Has to learn how to step up in the pocket

If you want to record it.

Can't wait. Gruden was interesting with McCarron & Carr.

I'm guessing that Gruden is going to ding Tajh for:
1) Failing to read & adjust to blitzes.
2) Pocket presence & walking into sacks.
3) Trying to force plays, thereby creating turnovers.
